After the original video, I picked up a Civivi. Bought it, loved it, used it for a year, and it was stolen. Bought another, still using it. Add an Olight Warrior mini flashlight, my dad's 50yr old small Case Stockman, and a Black fox mini tool. It's an inexpensive, but useful EDC that works for me. I have much more expensive knives, but they've become garage queens. I love inexpensive knives that are surprising quality knives. If I buy a $200 knife, it's expected that it will be a quality knife, but I'm less likely to risk it for some uses. Thanks for reviving this video.

Only have a top six that are under $100, but they're all great. (In no particular order) The James Brand - The Redstone (An inexpensive crossbar locking knife I don't mind beating up) CJRB - Pyrite (I was surprised how much I love this one, probably going to get more to keep in different locations) SOG - Terminus XR (Even have options including Damascus blade under $100) CRKT - Fossil Small (Not a style everyone would like, but it's interesting) Boker Plus - Kwaiken Air Mini (Lots of configurations over $100, but even the less expensive ones are great) Boker - Urban Trapper (Although most options are over $100, this is such a great knife, I have several) Bestechman - Dundee (Nothing exceptional, but for the price it's hard to fault)

If you don't just wanna "beat" it but use it for daily knife stuff; -Böker LRF -Sencut Bronte The build quality of the Börker is better; the advertised bearing of the Sencut is kinda odd from the feeling - Yet the Bronte is for me perfect to open packages / plastics wraps around stuff whenever I don't wanna have the edge "down"/"towards the wraped stuff" + it has G10 grips so I don't have to worry if some stuff gets on it, while on the other hand the LRF is just a little bit fancy and a good day to day knife.

I gota have a bad ass lock on a knife, I have had lock failure and been cut bad from it. The best lock I have found is on my goto knife, is the Benchmade barrage serated tanto blade, no way to accidentally disengage it, and you can lock the lock if you wish. But it is over 100...just under 200. Benchmade is one of the only companies that will replace a blade even if you "accidentally" use it as a pry bar and break the tip off.

I really like the look of the Sokoke, but I don't like the blade finishes. Bead blasts create little tiny pockets that increase surface area for corrosion. Civivi's dlc are listed at 1hrc lower than their non-dlc blades. I find damascus blades to be gaudy. It seems popular enough though so I hopefully they come out with a satin or stonewashed or acid stonewashed or something version.
