I suggest Maan from the same episode singing Nessun Dorma to Tania Kross. In the comments to that video an "opera expert" stated that Maan was punching above her weight and should leave it to the pros. It's not about education and technique. Maan exposed her entire being and made herself very vulnerable, that's what makes it breathtaking for me. And she can sing, no matter what.

Music is the only universal language in this world, no matter where you are in this world, music will be understood and felt. As you've shown yourself, with songs you dont know the language of, you still know what its about, you can feel what its about. (or close to that anyway) I love Tommy, he's a musical star here, and as you know, to be that, you need to have range, and he does. While pure technically, this might not be the best out there (nitpicking here lol), this song still had all one could ask for, a great voice, the right emotions, the right flow and the correct delivery of said song. So i still rate it as one of the great performances on this show. (also because i've always had a soft spot for this type of music) I'm going to enjoy your journey through these seasons, some songs will be a reminder for me, and other songs will be on my "request" list so to speak. Ty for this Olly :D a great way to start my weekend :D

It's really interesting and funny to see you discovering so many Dutch singers able to impress you! Tommie really does a great job here! Glad you found it. I think Beste Zangers is going to be HUGE next year with an international audience tuning in to hear more of those great Dutch singers. I know the Nightwish Army© will probably tune in even though Floor won't be there. She introduced me to this show, now I'm hooked. Cheers!

That is if they allow English translation. They pulled down all of Denise Hofs videos of this years show. They blocked a couple that she put on daily motion. She even tried communicating with them from the beginning and the would not answer her. That is so sad after all the work she put in..........

They are already doing this show in a few countries, same format.. (Sharon was in the Belgium one unfortunately, maybe Simone in the next Dutch version?) They also will replace the host btw, unfortunately. Not sure if that is because he will host Eurovision..

The lady with out the emotion is Anita Meijer she's a top singer for almost 50 years. She did on this season the most emotional song only it's in Dutch "Flink zijn" it's really very good.

If you like Tommie, you should try out his performance of A Sama De. He sang this for Kenny B who originally hails from Surinam. The language, Marron, is only spoken in small parts of the world. @@wolfrock2270 They pulled all of Denise's translated shows. I guess Avrotros doesn't want it to be international. I know they pulled her shows. On their sight they probably have all the shows from the different seasons. I unsubscribed in protest. Denise tried to communicate with them from the very beginning and they never got back to her. I even feel guilty watching these videos...........

The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.

This was a good Beste Zangers season. Do look at the performances of Maan (the young girl), Tommy, Anita Meijer (who is a music veteran, she did an awesome version Somewhere from West Side Story) and also some of Denny Christiaan (the curly older guy).
