Hi Jerry and Peter , what a great test of your new inverter and hay Best -Tech is the name brand of mine except mine is about 1 year and a 1/2 older and it is blue with with 4 plug in going straight across and flatter and wide across in stead of up and down like yours but it is still going strong and I love it.

I enjoyed the clip. It was nice to see your son Peter again, and he was the perfect foil with his comments about it just being a pretty metal box to him. Let me just be direct and say that although I have seen many, many reviews of gadgets in the past, you have a style all your own and it corresponds very well with the needs of the potential users of the devices you review. Was that clear as mud? Okay then, you are a darn good reviewer! I most enjoyed the little gotcha at the very end in response to your friend's comment about not needing such a device given that you have battery-operated power tools. You certainly set him straight but in a nice way! You are such an old smartypants and that is precisely why many of us tune-in over and over again.

Still, you know: How to hook up *that* Inverter. Now it's going to be so nice to know what they're talking about in the RV commercials when they so quickly mention that it "has an inverter." I watch so many of your videos. They are all good, and fun. You have me thinking that I want to move to Mexico. I wonder if I could live there on less than $1000 a month. The reason for the two wires is because the inverter is split down the middle and is 1000 on each side that’s how the 2k is obtained

You might want to check if it's putting RFI out and cleanness of signal to keep away from causing problems running a laptop on the power source.

Yes, I sprobably should have done that with the last 10 inverters and 5 laptops I've used in the last 25 years. Wasnt' smart enough to have that problem. :)

Susan. You can't run a laptop with an inverter. Laptops run off of their internal battery. :)

JC, great video!!! You did not say how long you can run a small household freezer without recharging the battery? Also, can you run UR alt. while using the inverter? "RUN & GUN"?

I used a smaller one to run a 100 Watt bar fridge at home in Mexico. It was a test with an old car battery, not a very good one. It ran for about 12 hours before the battery hit 10.5 volts and the inverter shut down. I was running a timer at the same time, so it used a little, too. I concluded that I could run the small fridge overnight if I were traveling in my van. And, yes, no problem running the car engine while using the inverter. :)

It looks like it has terminals for remote start of the inverter, such as a switch on your dash. That's how I wired mine years ago.

This one does not have that feature. I've wired them that way myself by removing the case and soldering in wires to the switch terminals. :)

Hi Pete! So lucky to have J.C. He is a neat ol guy. I'll have to Google that second one...api culture sounds like smart horses.(Appy is short for Appaloosas.) We have dam few Lady Bugs now . I found a colony I a field and put some in a fast-food bag to bring home .no luck tho. Same with Honey Bees. So few. How gardens get pollinated I don't know. People are so stupid about pesticides. That stuff kills. Why are they suprised it is also.harmfull to people?! I am surrounded by Toadflax and stinkweeds and Knapweed but use vinegar and soap. No one around here tries to kill weeds so why all the good bugs are gone I don't know .

First I want to say hi Peter. 👋 JC I got a question why did you get the 200 and I see there's two connectors 4 positive and negative do you connect that to two different batteries or is it to run from One battery. Because when I get my traveling van up and running I want to make sure I have some kind of power coming in besides solar. I don't want to look like I'm living in it I want to be as still as possible.

Had the same question but then 1 look it up : 2. For DC12V and car only, Don't connect the battery clamps to 2 different batteries, make sure the total input voltage is 12V.

The inverter does not make power, it takes power from the batteries at 12 volt direct current (dc) and converts it into 110 volt alternating current (ac) to be used for your 110 ac appliances. Power comes from solar panels or generator to a charge controller to the batteries to be available when needed, when no sun is available or you don’t want to run the generator

Could you run the vehicle while using the inverter?

Yes. No problem. The inverter is designed to not have a problem with the slightly higher charging voltage while the car engine is running .... And that will keep your car battery from being run down. :)

Well now you can send it back because it's a piece of junk I bought it did some investigating on it and it's a piece of junk all that is is to 1000 watt inverters powering it so you're only going to get about 800 watts out of two plugs, when was the last time you have ever seen an inverter with two positive and two negative inputs that is because there is two 1000 watt inverters each lead supplies power to each inverter send that piece of crap back it's junk I sent mine back and I bought a 4000 watt inverter for just a little bit more money and I can pull the full 4000w out of one Outlet when your hard wire an outlet on the end
