I am a Japanese and live in Tokyo. We do not usually eat it like Salmon, Mackerels, and Sardines. Even most restaurant does not have a menu because it is not really popular and people do not eat it. I have never seen Japanese eating Whale food except for my dad, but he does not eat it often. If you go to the north part of Japan, probably you can eat it.

Bob Sarmiento Decades old research on humans n we still don’t know everything about ourselves. Whales and every other living organism is same in that way.

LLL TTT I agree with that totally but come on, we all know they aren’t doing any “research” other than slaughtering those beautiful creatures for food and hiding that fact with BS about research 😡 you don’t need to harpoon and chase down and let the animal suffer like that (thousands every year). Sorry for the rant, I know that’s not what you meant but this topic is heartbreaking and awful.

Savannah Vu What’s the difference between eating whale and eating beef ? Or anything else ? Even if they are eating them, so what. Why is a whale life “more valuable “ than say a chickens or sea snail or whatever?

@@CHii951_D.S Oh man, I have to wrote a 15 pages paper about this. First of all, Whale meat or Dolphin meat are toxic for human because of high level of mercury in them. Second of all, they are highly intelligent animal. There is reason why we dont eat, dog or cat...etc. Another reason is that such huge animal like that once you start fishing them out of the ocean will have a huge impact on marine life. It affect the whole circle of life down there, so on and on. Beef and chicken is no where near extinction, but whale however is dangerously low population already. I can keep going, but here are just some example why we don't encourage fishing whale and such.
