Band-Maid met Mike Einziger at Pointfest in St Louis in 2022 where Incubus was the headliner. Mike watched part of their set and posted about them on Instagram. And this collab resulted. Layer Band-Maid opened for Incubus in Japan and Mike joined Kanami on the solo. Band-Maid calls him Mikey-chan.

When I originally heard this song, for some reason I thought of my grandparents, who were married for over 60 years. They lived through hard times in the 1930's & 40's but their love and friendship towards each other never wavered. Because of the lyrics and the music, this song could be "the first dance together song" at anyone's wedding or anniversary (yes it really can become a timeless classic). So much emotional meaning in the entire song, without it sounding too syrupy or mushy. Thanks for the reaction and welcome to BM-CD.

I found Missioned Souls through my daily trolling for all things Band-Maid. (NOT ashamed to say that I do that) They're wonderful and it just warms the old heart to see kids getting into music - and these kids, OMG are they great!!! Mom and dad, you ROCK!! This song's lyrics, I've heard and I'd like to think, are written to themselves. Their band mates are their best friends. And how many bands can say that after more than 11 years together? Missioned Souls Is the only complete family band in Philippine KZbin land. They are from Talisay Cebu, Philippines. They covers Love Songs, Ballads, Rock Alternative and many more. The kids are multi-instrumentalist and considered as prodigy in their craft. Isaiah "Ice" - 11YO on drums Stacey - 12YO on main vocals, rhythm, and bass guitar Neisha - 14YO on lead guitar, rhythm and bass Naces - 16YO on keys, bass, and rhythm guitar Dad Secan - bass, rhythm, audio mixing/mastering Mum Sheena - main vocals, keys and video editor They upload covers in an average of 3 songs/week. While they are doing covers and local shows, kids are also active in their school activities. On this album Band Maid has a song for the fans and one for themselves. Both are fantastic! dbl ♥ Their outfits were designed by Saiki! Of course they're amazing too! Beautiful outfits & song! Nowadays that doesn't matter much.. Not taking anything away from Missioned Souls OR Band-Maid but as a musician I have recorded in several studios and in several Home built studios.. Some recordings turned out better in the DIY. Since things swung the Digital route you can get very professional sounding home recordings .. especially if you have an engineer ( like the dad in missioned souls) to Master it. Regardless they are super talented and deserved all the praise for the performance even if it was recorded on an Iphone. Their recordings all sound amazing thanks to Dad! Bwahhahahahahaha.....😂😂😂 For me...loved it from the first time I've heard it. For some Maidiacs...took a bit to love it. And then there are the hardcore rockers....not feeling the force at all for this one. LOL. Great collaboration song with Mike Einziger from Incubus, who provided the opening riff and some suggestions as the song developed. The Jedi angel Mincho worked her magic with Miku's words. The Maids opened for Incubus on 5/1/24 in Japan. They did the first live performance of this song with Mikey-chan joining them on stage. When the Maids perform without their "battle gear", Saiki the fashionista, chooses the outfits. So far, it's been these angel-like outfits... especially Kanami and for the Christmas Acoustic okyu-ji from 2021. To her it's a fair trade for her having to wear the maid outfits. The only time I saw them live was in Minneapolis last year, they had just released "Shambles" which they didn't play. ☹I did get Sayonakidori and Daydreaming though, but hopefully when I see them again, I get to sing this song with them because of the English lyrics.

It's funny when you get entrenched into BAND MAID, the outfits become second nature. Because of what goes into EVERY song, you don't even notice them wearing them. Yet, when they don't .... we're right onto it haha. An Missioned Souls ... wow. There's a LOT of cover bands around the world that cover AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Kiss etc etc ... these KIDS just smashing everything they come across - NO LIMITS. People of all races, color, age etc etc, love music an I'm so glad they chose this path (covers that attract people of all genre's) to get the worldwide attention they so much deserve. In saying that, I'm also looking forward to the day they release some original material. Bestie is definitely a gorgeous looking video. Though I don't listen to it often, it's a really good song. I kind of look at it as similar to Blink 182's One More Time - a song written by the band, for the band, to the band. Just less band specific than Blink 182's. Bestie could easily be the type of song you'd put on a mixtape for a friend or partner back in the day.
