Honkai is basically a deep cut, I find it so amazing that no matter which album, you can blind pick ANY song and voila you are listening to Band Maid's masterpiece song " Blind Pick" because they are all masterpieces. This is absolutely, zero doubt about it, the best band ever: - all players superb in their own right, egoless and sharing, the tightest unit in all show biz - a 140+ song catalog of unparalleled quality- no clinkers! - best served live baby, no tricks no autotune no miming, just straight ahead rock and roll - this band pours its love out for their fans like no other band - no band has more infectious fun on stage; as good as the music is, the feelgood vibe during the entire concert is just plain sick. Every fan smiling all the way thru - they all seem to be very good friends besides band mates and have all said they want to stay together a long time going forward. And Band Maid seems to attract the best reactors, so please take a bow you two!!

To be honest, Honkai is from Unseen World album. The album where every last song places in top 20-30 of all Band-Maid songs. No song from Unseen World is deep cut :P I might be biased :D

MISA has said she has cut back on her drinking, but she had both an Asahi Super Dry and her bottle of Jim Beam on her amp at this show. This was an added intro to the song. That's why one needs to see them live in Japan. They add intros, solos, and duals throughout the show. Most are not heard outside Japan. MISA and Akane have done similar duets in Japan.

Kanami's sound is flying around the stage on her best student's backing. When you pull out your ear phone from right ear, you can enjoy the student's sound, and pull it out from your left year, you can enjoy the master's sound.

These spin-off shows were excellent, with lots of old/little-performed songs being played, as well as loads of extras like this superb and funky intro...and Saiki's non-stop singing (when does she breathe?) especially in that lead up to Kanami's solo. This is such an excellent Rock song, from the Unseen World album (2021). 🤘🤘As an ex languages teacher - OK, as a pedantic fecker - I have to add that though this song is usually titled in English as "Honkai" ("Honesty") but that is not usually written as a separate word and its context also depends on the type of Kanji used. A more accurate description would be "A Long-cherished Desire" or "A True Wish". Right, I'm off to get a life!

FYI, Band Maid just posted their year-end wrap-up video behind their pay wall sites (Prime and O-mei-syu-sama), and it's a time to pay close attention where they strategically hint on things to come. One nugget Miku let slip out was about a busy 2025. She actually said "For 2025, we already announced it (their domestic tour dates), so I hope we can visit local areas and also go "overseas"" (time stamp: 21:35 of Pt. 2, Band Maid Year-end party 2024 video). If this is the case, they will have to announce this rather soon, perhaps, after the Feb. 17th Spin-off Show or 4/1/2025. So, don't pay for your Fall 2025 travel plans to Japan just yet, Po! 🦍🍌

Only by being a member, we were able to purchase the Acoustic 2024 CD that we should be delivered in a couple weeks. The 2024 review interview was cool, just them sitting around a table eating and discussing the year with closed captions. Another thing to note, Miku's background vocals on this track are stellar. An octive higher than Saiki's, she provides the perfect backing to Saiki's soulful performance. In times of peril, I would want Miku right there besides me, cradling me with those sweet, angelic harmonies whether I'm battling it out against man, bear or disease.

The "spinoff show" was 20 or so songs that they weren't able to play during their 10th Anniversary show at Yokohama Arena in Nov 2023. Even though that show had 33 songs, they have too many graat songs... so they did this "spinoff" show in February 2024 to play many more of their great songs, and the setlist was incredible.

If you haven't already, treat yourselves to the Maid's rendition of the Dawn Winery Theme at the Genshin Concert 2022. A beautiful little Mincho gem. Starting with an homage to one of her guitar heroes and an oh so satisfying MISA interlude as Akane patiently waits to join in on the fun, they step it up by turns. It's a short "3 act" instrumental, but you just know that if there were no constraints the "4th act" would be off the chain.

Akane said that she always transcribes every single note into the score before recording. This would be a different matter from the drums arrangement for a new song, where the data is exchanged via DTM. And she added that she used to work in a music bar before she joined the band, where she often played in sight-reading mode, so she has gotten into the habit of transcribing scores, and that the scores are always playing in her head while she plays. (Source: _SPICE_ interview in 2022). I think she mentioned in her twitter that her repertoire at that time even covered about 600 songs.

Random suggestion = "Kimono Mom" is excellent to learn how to cook Japanese food. So simple and easy to understand. I was delighted to see just how easy most of the dishes are to make and yet American restaurants charge a ton of money. I'm not gonna say that Akane is the best drummer ever....... so many different styles, genre's and techniques that are there in music..... impossible. But what I will say is that she "is the Happiest" drummer I have ever seen. Even happier than Ringo. On a different topic, I bet my son ($500 us) that he could not play the Kanami/MISA solo's note for note - he plays guitar/bass/drums) - The BEST $500us I have ever lost...... and I WAS HARD with him.

Yeah, MISA had a really bad hangover on the road and switched to beer for shows after that. The only one that can drink MISA under the table is Miku, which is odd since MISA is the tallest and Miku is the smallest. It must help being an Old Man reincarnated as an ancient Magic Pigeon. And the only bassist that can touch MISA is Fami. But then she joined LOVEBITES and then they put her on a leash. So sad.
