Since I own an older Skoda and a newer VW ICEs, 2 weeks ago, during regular check ups, I was enquiring about their EVs. Well, when comparing their EVs to Tesla, they said manufacturing quality of both Skoda and VW is better ( Most Tesla have many gaps and parts don"t fit well.) When asked which Tesla model they compare to, the Skoda guy was honest enough to admit it was a recent ICE versus a Model 3 from early 2018 "it had many gaps". The VW guy said he personally tested some 4 years ago, did not remember the model but convincingly said parts did not fit well. Asked if it might have been a model Y he replied yes. So, do I trust those sales men? My answer: No.

I picked up my Tesla Model Y Long Range Dual Motor, exactly a month ago... It's a Made In China one, all I can tell is that Shanghai has its quality control in check.. No build quality issues at all, it was simply perfect! Yeah, these car companies did a benchmark check 3-4 years ago and asume its still applies today.. Well, with Tesla you should do a benchmark check every 6 months to prevent making a fool of yourself.. Tesla listens, learns, innovates and improves like no other company has ever done.. Where legacy car makers have model years, Tesla should probably introduce model MONTHS It IS the reason they are still around and the absolute leader in EV technology..
