Unions and high costs are the cancer in the car manufacturing industry. The volumes are key in the OEM's because the planning and investment is based on volumes, if the volumes go down, the planning capacity is already there, generating fixed costs that are not cover. Unions are poison in US and Europe, one of the reasons of lack of competitiveness in both regions. I think this is one of the reasons why Elon doesn't allow unions in Tesla.

You are right - CyberCab will become the preferred transport method. As ‘personalized’ public transport - I’m certain it will disrupt public transport like busses and light rail more than anything because your ride starts wherever you are and ends wherever you want - plus doesn’t stop for anyone else- plus is the safest for you and your stuff - because you are not with strangers. Relatively speaking, it will be a bit cheaper than an Uber but will take about the same time . Relative to public transport it will be much cheaper (especially when you nclude parking and the ride to the station) and many times faster (without the need for parking and multiple stops).

I don't think the cab can give back energy or at least enough energy to the grid wirelessly which is the kind of connection it is going to have.

In car Compute ? Accessible OTA - but for it to be effective latency - a strong Wi Fi is required - so dormant Cybercabs will need to assemble in a Connected Parc . In car energy (KWh) CyberCab is not yet bi directional - no port , so engineering required but once done it will also require to be located at the “Connected Parc” but its priority will be to Load Energy , so it can work , not to unload ?

So you’re in for a real treat, my friend, as I am currently driving on V13.2.2, and it is a giant leap forward in the race to achieve a level 5, fully, capable autonomous, driving car, possessing a real world capability of driving from point A to point B without any human intervention, and do so consistently, safer than any human alive today. So it is currently in my opinion that good, and we’ll see what happens next year with the launch of the Robo taxi, because if we’re going to be allowed to join the Robo taxi fleet, then FSD unsupervised will have to become a real thing, otherwise it’s a house of cards, and I don’t believe it’s a house of cards, as it’s just a matter of dealing with some slightly irritating issues associated with FSD as it currently exist, and one of my pet peeves is, that it still can’t distinguish between certain traffic barriers, and it doesn’t know what a pothole is and why you should want to avoid them, as well as manhole hole covers protruding way above the road surface or below the expected road surface, and for me, that has to get fixed if it is to become a real thing/service that one can count on. Comphrende. Cheers 🥂

Hybrids should be equal to petrol cars, it makes no sense they get any tax credits or anything else. There are even mild hybrids, that use the starter motor for the first few feet after a complete stop, and that is the only thing it does, but is still considered a hybrid and has the same benefits and tax deduction as a full BEV.

This will be the death of trains, busses, taxi companies etc. unless trains will convert to more cross country travelling, with like a stop every hour or so. Like an express elevator, where you use the cyber cab to get a part of the way, then the express train cross country and cyber cab again to the destination. Trains where I live has so many stops, they spend more time standing still than driving. But I would be afraid of traffic congestion, so they would have to redesign the entire city road structure to handle the increased traffic or they will ban cars in city centres to keep the public transport profitable. My prediction is also that the price at first will be kept just below the competition to make a huge profit.

@taefravis
@taefravis 6 сағат бұрын
@@davidbeppler3032 Nope! Depends on the country as in my country you can NOT go 1000 miles for $25(£20) no way ! Plus Tesla could offer cheaper rates for travelling from one town to another as they would control the costs much better. Many people do not like using the trains that are late, badly maintained, slow, have to travel with other people who are annoying and loud/obnoxious especially Americans!

"Catch up"?! The "competition" was never even CLOSE, not on strategy, not on vertical integration, not on manufacturing innovation, not on having their finger on the pulse of the market, and certainly not on ANY sort of innovation. This why they need a HUGE telescope to even SEE Tesla's lead.

Cybercabs COULD be very cheap, but will they be? Cybertruck was going to be $40k but look what happened when they saw that waiting list. Jacked it up to $100k and then slapped a decal on it and made early adopters pay $120k ! So don't be surprised if they squeeze as much money out of the system as people are willing to pay I don't even take Waymo or others into consideration. They cannot compete. They will become instantly obsolete.

Currently Tesla builds a Model 3 in about 10 hours. VW builds a ID3 in about 30 hours. Tesla plans for Tesla Cabs to be produced in less than 5 hours. Or about 250k, the production of Model 3s, x2. So, I expect 500k Tesla Cabs a year in about 3 years. Each one profits about $20k a year for 3 years. Or $17 billion in profits in 3 years. :)
@taefravis
@taefravis 7 сағат бұрын
@@davidbeppler3032 I see the number being much much higher as it is not where Tesla are now that counts but where they will be in 3 years time. They will hit the ground running as they designed the Cybercab to be quick and easy/cheap to build. They built scalability into the system. This means that Tesla will be able to INCREASE production of Cybercab through existing factories and new factories. Tesla went from brown muddy field in Shanghai China to finished factory producing cars in less than 12 months. Tesla therefore could easily build a factory just for the Cybercab in a year and scale up production much quicker than the Model 3/Y. Tesla could build 2 or 3 factories at the same time and thus scale up production even quicker. Tesla want to produce 20 million cars a year and that is not to be achieved with the Model 3/Y and so the Cybercab will be the bulk of that 20 million. So I see Tesla producing at least 1 million Cybercabs a year by 2028.
