My mom divorced my dad after non stop physical abuse, she raised me and my siblings alone in a one bedroom apartment while my dad had a big house in the suburbs and his cars. Child support was a joke. My mom did not remarry in fact chose to stay single because she wanted to focus on us, my dad on the other hand had a bunch of affairs during the marriage and messed around after the divorce too. My mom struggled big time.

THIS happens far more often than not... but hear a guy tell it and it will be "I cheated/became promiscuous because I was depressed" or some other variation on "it's not my fault". It's one thing to recognize you need psychological help... it's a whole other thing to blame your bad behavior on your emotional instability. Too many people nowadays (men AND women) have let their emotions run rampant, run the show and run their lives into the ground. The only difference is men are just NOW getting to see what the emotional turmoil is really all about in all it's hellish glory. For better or worse, they are getting more in tune with their actual feelings. The ramifications are proving to be the ultimate "shyt show" for most.

My parents divorced when I was an infant. The amount of child support my mom received was a joke. My dad all but checked out of my life and went on to remarry and have a successful contracting business. My mom raised me in a tiny apartment and then eventually moved in with my grandma. She worked her ass off, made a good salary with the federal government (a career that spanned 43 years), made sure I never was left without necessities, and supported my social and physical growth through sports and outside of school activities. Because of this, she wasn't able to afford buying her own home again until retirement. Raising kids the right way and doing the best you absolutely can as a single mother is end-game boss level difficult. FnF have zero basis of reality and are just scamming young and vulnerable men out of money they shouldn't be spending on poison like them.

We get a ton of dads who haven’t seen their kid in 5 years and come in asking for 50-50 so that they don’t have to pay child support. When the judge says “No. you have to work your way up to 50-50 because you are a stranger to this child” the dad’s dip out crying about their “loss” when in fact the dad did this to himself.

Why is it even an argument? Isn't child support supposed to be money you use to feed and take care of the kid? Like even if the costs of it were 20k and the women got that much, why would that ever be a win for the woman? It's just an extra responsibility to take care of a child whose dad has fucked off. It's hardly in any woman's interest to cause a break-up after she's married with a kid. Also, I don't know how it is in the US, but in my country, divorcees get half of the shit that the couple *acquired* *when* *together* . You don't get to just marry, divorce, take his shit.

@@ne0nmancer I think the statistics might give that picture because divorces are most common among poor people. The legal system is indeed trying to financially compensate the woman for divorcing her man and then some. However, it does not always succeed because the man is so poor he can barely sustain himself on his own. And in that case women's calculation is that they would be better off finding a replacement for their poor partner rather than have to live with his limited means. How successful they are in doing so is a different matter though; hence the epidemic of delusional single women.

They are stuck in this "Men vs Women" mindset. They feel divorce fucks guys, which it can, so it MUST benefit the women. But the reality is, Divorce fucks both parties and Destiny is correct that historically it fucks women harder. Sure, women may get custody and child support and in a minority of cases alimony, but Children ,as great as they are , are a burden in time and money. Alimony and Child Support are at then end of the day a loss because while married they had access to the totality of their partners resources generally now they have reduced access to those resources. FnF are framing it as "Man has 100, Wife has 0 and post Divorce Man has 50 and Woman has 50, so the woman only gains" but that's simply not accurate. Realistically Divorce, even if necessary, is just a loss for both sides, and if a woman doesn't have an established career and has to take care of a logistical burden, it's worse for them. Doesn't mean the guy is doing great, but the negatives just are more for the women.

Dating a single mom is not for me personally, but I would never look down on a man willing to take on that responsibility. The fact that they are willing to take on that responsibility is admirable and there are plenty of success stories where the child grows up and looks back fondly on their step parent being an important part in their lives as a parental figure. That's means women are 300% more likely to recieve payment than a man. And these figures include ANY form of payment, even a partial payment. Another point Destiny forgot to make is that when it comes to single dads, a "high value woman" for them could just be some 18yo bimbo straight out of highschool. That's far more attainable than a single mom trying to find a wealthy/attractive single man. Single moms are competing with an entire generation of younger women. While single dads have already narrowed the competition by being financially stable and still reasonably attractive to most women. Especially if a single dad is able to demonstrate that he loves and cares for his kids, that can actually be very attractive to a lot of women.
@bigdawglilnuts6107

In what world does a single dad have it easier than a single mom to find a relationship again? The negative connotation with being a single dad is way worse than a single mother. I don’t see very many single dads out there in the dating market being successful. And how would they be secure in their job and financial stable? Especially having a kid and being young. My mother had time to go to college and further her education and had an easier time getting a job my father did not further his education and could barely get anything. Women inherently have more opportunities now in todays age financially and education wise so I don’t know where you get that from.
@Big-Papa-Smurf

@@bigdawglilnuts6107 Why not just google before asking me? Two major factors. Single fathers earn more on average, and they tend to be older, on average, than single mothers. @@Big-Papa-Smurf It doesn’t matter how much the man makes after or how much older he is. The fact is a woman’s options vastly outnumber a man’s. They agree with that and never said single moms will have better dating chances lol. Destiny was arguing that since men make more money following divorce they “do much better” doesn’t take into account the bias that family courts have when it comes to men. The men generally were making more money to begin with, so it’s a non argument. Then they are legally bound to pay child support or alimony in some cases, on a percentage basis, which is just ridiculous. Its arbitrated by state in the US, but Alimony is either awarded temporarily, to rehabilitate a spouse, to reimburse them for expenses during the marriage, or for life. The latter would only be awarded in very specific circumstances that probably don't apply to 90% of divorces. In most cases it seems like it's intended to redress the financial imbalance in the relationship, not for women to "cash out". That also doesn't counter my original point. The ex-wives will likely need that money, because otherwise it impacts their ability to care for the children.

Most women will be the custodial parent thus have to start planning their future and creating stability for their kids. Most men want to have their cake and eat it to, they may like presenting the image of being married to society or for events even if marriage is dead . They also will enjoy access to their kids everyday so they can come and go even if the women is unhappy and they have cheated and birthed other kids. I Have seen so many men not even fully use their time sharing because they like and want their space. Women are more nurturing and men go out to brace the terrains of the world to bring home the bacon . So most men keep ascending in their careers and increasing their sexual market value. How can they say men don’t care about a woman’s career or what she makes , yet if she stayed home to care for kids and home and have a 15-20 year employment gap they are shocked when the burden of child care may fall on the man smh

The 85% of men having to pay child support number was used SO much in this to defend their positions. They felt so much comfort using that as a debate piece when clearly women are put in the position of being the caretaker in the family most of the time, leading to a hampering of their financial position in life. It's insane that one can say women want to be the nurturing partner that takes after the kid while the man goes out and hunts and gathers, while also saying that men fair worse than her financially after divorce because he has to pay out each month to the person who took a hit on their career potential to support the needs of the household. I looked it up and here's a copy/paste: "Statistics show that while women initiate divorce almost twice the rate that men do, women are also much more likely to greatly struggle financially after divorce. This is particularly true if children are involved. Often, the personal growth found by dissolving a toxic relationship is replaced with the crushing financial and emotional struggle of being a suddenly single parent. However, women tend to be much more adaptable to change during stressful times and often have a much more extensive divorce support group than men."

My brain is getting smoother and smoother every time I hear F&F try to talk their way out of solid points. I don’t know if they have kids or not but I feel like they don’t since they think any amount of money a month is enough to support a child whether it be $400 or $2000. A child’s needs scale up based on the caretakers circumstances. Food, clothes, childcare, school, extra on utilities, insurance, emergencies. Not to mention time. I could go on and on. Divorce affects both parties terribly but in many cases, the mother retains custody of the kid(s) putting extra burden on her so it would be kinda dumb to think women come out better than men (assuming they’re the ones to assume custody). They cite stats and numbers but when Destiny brings up different stats and numbers, it’s all “I feel like…”

But it's crazy to me that they'll say a single mother has way less value to man, and when a woman argues back saying "I see plenty of single mothers find happy relationships", they completely dismiss the anectdote and say "generally speaking, single mothers aren't getting long-term relationships with men." Which I would expect. Because if they agree, then their whole belief system about womens value falls apart. So I think what f&f fail to realize is that there are so many circumstances to marriage and divorce, that it can’t just be this one thing. Something that happened to me recently is I had an epiphany about why my relationship is failing and ending. 1. I didn’t have a father to teach me how to be a man, a father, or a husband. I thought when you got those things you become them and just work from there but no… there’s a lot more to it than that. 2. I don’t think men really think out what type of relationship they want. A lot of men just follow the women’s lead and it leads them to divorce and ruin cause they didn’t take the time to think it through. 3. A lot of men are just immature. And it could be a bunch of factors that are contributing to this 4. I think men and women are having a hard time ADAPTING to our new society and ways of living. This isn’t the 1970s anymore. Women need to do their part financially and men need to step up and mature more.
