Did I Read My Most Anticipated New Releases of 2024?

I don't think I've ever given a contemporary romance 5 stars. I love them but I only rate 5 stars for like a MUST read book. I really didn't like Butcher and Blackbeard or whatever it was called... so I likely will NOT read Leather and Lark.

I'm a sucker for a really really good romance! If they're done right, they can definitely be a 5 star for me, but it doesn't happen super often. Butcher & Blackbird is definitely a love it or hate it kind of book. I'm not really intrigued by dark romance, but it's fun to dip my toe in with that series.

@ I think this is where my English teacher nature comes in. I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance that was like damn everyone should read this. Maaaaaybe Maybe in Another Life but I just loved the concept behind that one

@@simply_artzy A concept can definitely sway a rating. I don't think I really feel like my 5 star reads are books that would/need to be universally read/liked. If it gives me the 5 star feeling, I go with it. This year I think I had 5 star reads in romance, fantasy, horror, literary fiction, and middle-grade so I'm all over the place 🤣

@@BestKeptPlans bahaha no I don't think they should be universally liked- we all have different reading tastes. I just think that everyone should read them because they are life changing and alter the way you think about the world.
