There is a logical explanation for this to those in the below reply chain..!! "NPD" Narcissistic Personality Disorder..!!" "Cluster B Personality Disorder Spectrum..!!" This is not the byproduct of being a male or a female..!! More so a byproduct of parental attachment style..!! Take for instance the recent clamor regarding Will and Jada Pinkett Smith with regards to Jada's "Entanglement" with the "younger fling" at Will's expense..!! Jada is an "emotional abuser" who lacks empathy..!! Will Smith, despite being fully aware, That what is happening to him is wrong..!! He is conditioned likely, by his own maternal parental style to gravitate towards an abusive woman like this..!! She can spot the susceptible type like him from miles away too..!! Manipulative Narcissistic individuals are predatory on these types of susceptible co-dependent types..!! She used to talk to 2Pac..!! Another emotionally volatile male..!! A pattern of behavior with these types of women..!!! This is the tragedy..!! When people make a "blanket answer generalization" about the opposite sex based on their parental attachment style having only presented the exact same type of emotionally abusive partner every time without failure in their adult intimate relationships..!! You are somewhat predisposed, If you were raised by an emotional abuser..!! You already have "fang marks" in your neck for the "Emotional Abusive type" to gravitate towards you like a wolf in sheep's clothing..!! 🐏🐑=🧛🏽♀️🧛🏽♂️ The ones that seem so wholesome or angelic and innocent are the worst ones..!! Sort of like "Eric or Bill Compton" on that "True Blood" show that used to come on HBO..!! 🧐

When she has worked through all the attempts to manipulate you into relinquishing your decision in favor for what she wants you to do (move in to her parents), and then goes to Anger, rather that say she is upset now and you will revisit it later, when she is insulting you try this: Keep calm, and say as calmly as you can "Well, if you feel I am such a lacking person, I'm unsure why you would want to stay in this relationship". Tom: you are SO right....I've had more GFs than I care to remember, and same with my buddies, and to a one sex drops off dramatically once the relationship is secure. It's hilarious when you think about it how almost ALL women start dishing it out like a treat once they hear the L word and each of them deny it with every fiber of their being. Then when you confront them with it they start making excuses. For example: The ex was upset that she missed the two cats her ex took with him when he moved out. So I (mistakenly) encouraged her to get one of her own for company. To the weekend she picked it up the times we spent together dropped off dramatically. Of course she denied it but it is hard to argue a point when we'd see each other a couple or three times a week, then after the cat, it was a couple of times every two weeks then eventually twice a month. The clincher for me (among others) was when I was sick with the flu, and ran out of tylenol and orange juice, and asked her to pick some up and drop it off after she got off work. (small town, a total of about 15 minutes out of her way). She said she couldn't because she had to go home and feed her cat. Stating "it hadn't eaten for 8 hours". Then not 6 weeks later she was going away for an overnight with her niece and nephew and asked me to feed her cat, saying "once each morning is fine". So the cat couldn't be left unfed for 8 hours and 15 minutes, but it ok to be unfed for 24 hours.....The hypocrisy is bad enough but to fail to see that it was wrong is much worse. That's a typical action of a narcissist: to do something wrong and then justify it (falsely).

Bill is spot on with his advice. She gets angry and I never do. When we argue I keep the discussion on point and calmly but firmly call her on any bullshit or distractions she throws at me. When I do this she sometimes clams up and won't say anything for a day or two. Then when she's calmed down she'll contact me and we'll sort out the issue. I know alot of guys would say to ditch her at this point but I'm making progress with her and it is slowly getting better. Relationships are always gonna be work guys. It all depends on how hard of a worker you are and your "work ethic". Stay calm and always be honest about how you feel, don't lie to yourself and don't lie to her.

Feminist's Ideology from Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook: "My advice to women is date all of them: the bad boys, the cool boys, the commitment-phobic boys, the crazy boys. But do not marry them. The things that make the bad boys sexy do not make them good husbands. When it comes time to settle down, find someone who wants an equal partner. Someone who thinks women should be smart, opinionated and ambitious. Someone who values fairness and expects or, even better, wants to do his share in the home. These men exist and, trust me, over time, nothing is sexier."

You are spot on but ask yourself what the objective is. You have options here. One is to just fuck off. If you choose to stay and go with the not ever engage in an argument method you know she will throw everything at the situation and you are effectively in an argument whether you like it or not. I like Bill’s defer the argument theory. One to be saved for those pointless arguments is the forfeit method where you just let her win and show super clearly that you have listened to her and come around to her point of view. Later you demand the same consideration from her when the outcome really does matter to you. She won’t like it so when she won’t bend that’s when you close off and refuse to participate in the argument. This is where you point out that you listen and change but she never will so you just shut down. She won’t admit she’s wrong but she knows she’s losing here and when you shut down while she knows she’s losing you win....I think

Bill, I love your advice to practice being calm during a woman's shit storm! This is exactly how it went down when I had a custody talk at her parents' house mediated by her mom. I practiced visualizing what I would say and do. I went in there feeling like I was walking into the lion's den and left like Daniel in the bible who stepped out of the lion's den unscathed. She wanted 70/30 custody and me to fork out more money. The talk started with me discovering that the divorce decree was signed and I showed it to her in her own email. This decree stated that we had 50/50 custody and as a responsible loving father it felt it was perfect especially after having done 50/50 for the past 3 months in order to help her work more hours and discovering the value of quality time with my 5 children. The first thing that she mentioned after I stated that I showed her the agreement in her email was, "You need to be more financially responsible for your children than just $200/month" and I realized that all that she wanted was more MONEY!!! It pissed me off but I kept my cool and had prepared myself for this including the fact that she would have the homecourt advantage. I simply said over and over in a very even and calm voice, "I'm sorry you feel that way but unless you are willing to keep custody at 50/50 and only discuss scheduling then this discussion is over." After a half, an hour of this and her and her mom bringing up different concerns I got up and walked away in total peace and gratitude for all that had transpired with the ex yelling after me and threatening me. That feeling and joy that I experienced were exactly as you described it! Soooo satisfying but I wasn't from a place of hate or vengeance on my part but from a place of love and gratitude. I didn't have any hard feelings toward her or her mother in fact I thanked her mother for the use of her home and her time. I also learn that Love can really conquer all! I always thought it was a bunch of bullshit but it's true because if I come at any situation whether it be a guy with a gun or a woman with her vicious words with love, gratitude, and understanding here are the outcomes. 1. I leave the situation with a friend, peer, and/or advocate 2. I leave the situation with a person who dislikes me/hates me 3. I get shot physically or verbally No matter the outcome I leave being true to myself and to my higher power. This is how Love can become my shield and my sword. This is how love really conquers all.

Alright people, there's nothing wrong with supporting your partner when they want to study, or moving in with their or your parents temporarily if you need some support. Actually I would say they are lucky that they even have that option, there so many people who don't. My partner supported me financially while I studied, he brought in 70% of the income. He suggested multiple times that I quit my job completely and just focus on my studies, although I didn't because I liked my job and liked pitching in financially so I didn't quit. He supported that too. I supported him when he didn't have a job at all, maybe a year in total. We have lived separately, rented together, lived with (his) parents for over half a year, the works. Yeah of course we prefered living in our own place over the other options, but hey. We tried to be flexible and make compromises, and sometimes one situation favours one person but we balance it out eventually. If he moves in with the parents and it doesn't work so well, they can stick it out for some time, figure out the next step and move out again. Or they can move further out and pay way less for rent, or rent with other people. She can postpone study until they've saved some money. If this couple cares about the other and themselves, they'll argue about things and think about things and make it work. The fact that he needs to ask someone who knows nothing about their relationship means that he isn't into that relationship or into her, or into long term relationships in general lol.
@BigEvan964 жыл бұрын
How could that possibly be? Do you think people who seek couples or marriage counseling shouldn't be in relationships or marriages? Just because you ask for advice doesn't mean you don't appreciate the relationship. It means the opposite. If I'm having trouble with something or someone and I ask for advice, that means I want things to be better, not that I don't care.
@vartush4 жыл бұрын
@@BigEvan96 yes that's true, I didn't phrase that well, asking a trained professional or even someone who knows both parties personally makes sense. But asking a total stranger doesn't make sense to me. Especially if it may be the make or break of something. Ive found that when most people ask me for advice, they come to me specificially because they have an idea of what I'll be saying, and that's what they prefer to hear in that moment. This guy might have asked Bill Burr because he wanted to hear 'leave, what are you doing?' or something similar. I don't know it got to me more yesterday than it does today lol I hope everything worked out for the best.

Having recently come out a four year relationship with a narcissistic woman, my first thought she was that she's seting up a situation where whatever happens, she wins. If they move in with her parents, they save money, she wins. If he doesn't want to move in her parents, she pulls out the "well if you can afford to live on your own, what difference does it make if I stay here for free while I'm studying" card, and again, she wins. Having said that, I realise that not every woman is sinister like that. She might just really want to better her life and set herself up with a career. If you really love this woman and see yourself being together forever then you should want this for her too. After all, being in a relationship where both people have a steady career and good income makes life easier and less stressful. I would try to find some form of compromise, like you move into a cheaper place while she's studying. Or if you do move in with her parents, put all that money aside that you would spend on rent and save a deposit so you can buy your own house. Short term pain for long term gain.

The only reason I could see him moving in is if they were engaged and saving for a house. Then it would ultimately be worth it. My parents had to do that.

I can agree if you make a time plan and actually follow it to save and move out again. Don't get stuck!

@@4Mikes4Mindset4 in this case if the girl would be making more money than the guy after nursing school that would actually be financially beneficial for the guy so you shouldnt have an issue with it, assuming like most guys who hate getting married that you think its a financial contract

@@4Mikes4Mindset4 Would depend on how big the wedding is. If she's fine with a courthouse wedding and then something like a family BBQ in parents' backyard.... It's doable. Good luck finding a woman like that in the USA.

I would add that women often don’t want a solution, they just want you to listen to their emotions and help them work through them. If you stick to your guns and don’t listen to be able to empathize, then you’re going to have a bad time. Once she works through her stuff you’ll get a chance to talk about your side, but you’ve got to make sure she feels heard and cared about before she’ll be open to hearing you. If she isn’t willing to listen to your side even after you’ve made an effort to understand her perspective and help her work through her emotions, then she needs to learn to be a good listener and compromise. And if you need to take space, just give her a time when you will be ready to revisit it in a better state of mind. “I’m getting really flooded right now, I need space right now to calm down. Give me (x amount of time) and we can keep talking.” Building a solid foundation for communication isn’t quick or easy, but if you want to build a life with that person, then it is worth it. If you don’t love that person, or care enough to try, then you just need to get out of the relationship for both of your good.

In other words, be her emotional tampon. I know that sounds harsh. Maybe I've been listening to Bill too long. LOL But seriously, she has just as much responsibility to listen to reason as he does to listen to her emotions. It's a 2-way compromise.
@rnjesus99505 жыл бұрын
robert traverso As long as both are actually listening to understand and empathize, not just waiting for your turn to speak, then I agree. Most, if not all of the time, my wife lands at a really reasonable and level-headed spot. Emotions are driven by thoughts, so usually they can be understood rationally. I’ve just found empathizing with my wife helps her feel comfortable enough to get to a rational place.

Never get married, its a trap. Don't even let a women move in with you, it's a trap also. You let them get in your home in any way, you lost the game of life. They own you. If they trick you into having a kid with them, your life is over. Married or not, if you have a kid with her, you are now her meal ticket in life.

Cponyman49 I've seen way too many men get the rug pulled out from under them at an age in life where they would normally be taking it easy. For them, there's not enough time to rebuild. Good luck to you. P.s. I'm happy with the choices I've made specifically not marrying, or having kids and have zero regrets.

In this case, guy should just respond with "I'm proud of my independence and I'm going to protect it" If she responds with anything outside of "I understand. I respect that, you don't have to move in with my folks", then either wall up and see if anything changes, or challenge it right then and there. Nobody should ever get chastised for wanting to protect their independence
