I love that Tom chose this moment to give tribute to his friend by singing a duet with his son. Something he might not have been able to do when he died.

Men don't really start losing their voice until they are in their 80's/90's as long as they keep using it. Women lose it so much earlier even when they use it regularly. It's really not fair.

It can't be overstated just how important Lonnie was in Brit Rock/Pop with so many wannabes first picking up a guitar to emulate him, the Beatles et al. Remember, Lennon had first started with skiffle and Macca joined him. He set so many on the road to stardom.

When Lonnie Donegan wrote "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" for Sir Tom Jones more than half a century ago, he could have never had imagined this magical scene happening five decades later. His son fatefully encounter on the Voice the legend Sir Tom, for whom this piece was written, and they instantly perform with no rehearsal at all, yet with absolute amazement, as it was meant to be. This beautiful song became a true legacy from Lonnie not only to Peter and Sir Tom Jones, but to all of us who were mesmerized by their magical performance. Truly a moment to remember and pay my respects to all.

A mistaken memory here from Tom. Lonnie Donegan had written AND recorded the song five years before Tom's version but it had bombed in the UK charts. Some years later after Tom hit the big time they became friends and at Lonnie's house near London, he pulled out his old record and said "you should do this" Rest is history.

Who would ever think that this would've come full circle. His father, Lonnie Donegan, would've been in tears himself. I remember my mom listening to him in the sixties. I always sang along with his songs. No matter what his past was, he only had one love. I could feel it when he sang this song this time, cracking in his voice (and that's not because of age) and the tears. I've listened to this over 20 times and still cry.

No one ever said magic took no work luv. ^~^ Also, just my opinion, but it truly seemed to me like the performer and the band were following the lead of Sir Tom Jones. The contestant was a half-step behind while Jones had the band knowing what was going on because he set the tone, so to speak, just my own thoughts on it. I like how the contestant finally saud "F^$# It" though and let himself go ahead to do his own thing with Sir Jones.

ACCORDING TO TOM ON INTERVIEWS AFTER THIS WAS BROADCAST, THEY DID SING THE WHOLE SONG. BUT FOR TV, THEY HAD TO EDIT IT. WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE ACTUAL FOOTAGE OF THE FULL VERSION 👍👍👍 EVEN BEING SHORT EDIT, WE ALL WHO WATCHED IT, CERTAINLY GOT GOOSE BUMPS. WELL, I CERTAINLY DID.

The look Tom gives him when he starts singing at the piano is so beautiful. He's so proud for this man and probably sees his father in him
