Bestop Supertop Ultra Squareback Soft Top Side Window Replacement - 2018 Jeep Rubicon JL!

This is just a quick video going over how to replace your Bestop passenger side window. It’s a really easy task. My wife’s Jeep was broken into a few times over the past few months and it was time to replace the window. I just figured I’d show the process. I hope you enjoy!

Nice fix! Dang people! I hate not wanting to take my truck out on the backroads due to thieves and vandals living up in the hills! Getting bad everywhere! Gotta love being able to fix stuff yourself though!

Was your top really tight in the rear panels when you first installed it? We just installed our and the back tailgate panel won’t reach each side panel to lock in

Yes it was Kings Disaster. I wrestled with it for a while before it “snapped” into place. All I can say is keep trying. You’ll eventually get it like I did. Good luck my friend!

Tony, I just installed this same top. Today was the first day I took it all the way down and now it won’t lock back up. It won’t close all the way up or lock up in the trunk canopy/safari position again. Tried messing with the levers in the back etc. for some time but no luck. Any ideas? Anything special you have to do to lock it back up after having it all the way down? Thanks man!

Dang Ali! Im trying to think of what to do. I know when we first got our and played with it opening and closing it, we didn’t realize that some force had to be used to get passed some of the cantilever forces the top has built in to it. I’m not saying that’s it in your case, but if you had it fully closed and then opened and nothing seemed to of broke or coke loose, then it should close up and be good to go. So right now you have it completely open, window out in the back and in the safari position? Best thing I would do is (unless you already did it) watch a video from bestop performing the opening and closing and see if you missed just the tiniest of steps. It could be something really easy and just need a little more force (without breaking of course). Let me know what you find Ali… it may help me in the future or someone else with this top. Thanks again and sorry I wasn’t much help. I know it can be frustrating

@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser thanks for the quick response. Right now I have it all the way down. Not even in the safari position. I can’t get it to lock back in the safari position and therefore also not all the way back closed either. I bet the installer did something wrong and now he’s out until Tuesday. I was just wondering if there’s anything special I need to do to get it from all the way down to lock back up in safari position. Anything with the levers. Thanks again.

@@aliabedin2323 no worries Ali. I just wish I could help more. Yea I didn’t even think that the installer could of messed it up and that really stinks that they are off until next Tuesday. Ok, so here’s the problem me and the wife had when we first opened it up. So we installed it ourselves following the instructions and it was pretty easy to install. Just took some time. No with it all closed up, we went to open it in the first position. So we I clipped it where the sun visors are and then lifted it and pushed it back, so now the top is open and resting on the back portion. We drove around for a bit and when we went to close it up, we couldn’t rotate the top back to the front. We called the company and they were about to send us a new one, but then I just put some more first on the rotation towards the front and it overcame the “hump” and came right back down and then we clipped it in. As for your situation you said that it’s all the way down “meaning it’s open towards the back?” I know of those levers you speak of but can’t seem to remember what they do. Maybe a slight wiggle or something might work. Heck I’d drive and take a look at it if I could Ali… hahahah. Don’t you hate when something doesn’t work the way you want it too? It drives me nuts and I feel for you for sure.

Hey David! Yea it’s an all too real reality with our vehicles today. My wife’s rig takes the brunt of break-ins. Mine doesn’t because I park within a gated complex. I just wish people would stop doing it but we know that’ll never happen.
