Hello and thank you for your videos. I’m planning to buy this pool next month or so, my only concern right now is warming the water. My backyard has many tress, some sun does get though but I fear it’s not enough for the water temperature I want. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions about warming the water? Thank you.
@diymanual2 жыл бұрын
Look for a solar heater but you will need to replace the pump if you have to place the solar heater away from the pool. I have an extreme power solar heater that helped bring to water temp into the low to mid 80's during summer. But with the solar heater, I have to run the pump longer as it slows down the water transfer.

How many inches do those side supports stick out at the bottom. Longer than 12"? I'm looking at the 10 by 16 best way oval pool. I'm not sure if the polls will stick out further than the area I have available
@diymanual8 ай бұрын
You will need add at least 2 ft to the width to make sure you have enough space. The top opening for a 10 x 16 pool is actually just around 8 x 16 because they measure the widest part of the pool which is around the belt line. I went over that part during the first 2 minutes of the video so you may want to re-watch that part Hope this helps.
@LilPinkPoodle78 ай бұрын
@@diymanual yes when I watched the video I was surprised at the difference between the top and the bottom. It makes it a bit difficult when you are trying to get the biggest size pool for your space. My patio is 13.5ft wide. Trying to find the biggest pool I can for the space. My patio is 23ft long by 13.5 ft wide. I had even looked at an oval 12 ft by 20 ft pool. But I think the supports might go out too far on the sides.
@diymanual8 ай бұрын
@@LilPinkPoodle7 I upgraded last year into a 12 x 24 the side footing went about a foot over the grass. My grass if I remember is 12 ft wide. I will measure later when I get home. Is your patio made of concrete or brick? Are you planning on just letting it rest on your patio floor or are you going to put a wood in between the floor and the footing?
@LilPinkPoodle77 ай бұрын
We have a paver patio. Our last pool was a 12-foot round. We just let it sit on top. But if we want anything bigger than that it will have to go over the patio and I'll have to raise it up on something to try to make it level. I think a 10 x 16 oval would fit. I was just hoping to get something bigger
@diymanual7 ай бұрын
@@LilPinkPoodle7 The grass area is 146 inches then the foot extends an extra 13 inches. So your 13 1/2 will be really close and you will need to center it properly because once you add water you are stuck to that position.

Thank you, such a useful tutorial 👍 I've bought the 16' x 10' version and wondered what sizes you cut the 1/2" board?
@diymanual Жыл бұрын
I have 12 x 24 on the U-shaped footing and 12 x 16 on the straight poles at the round corners. You can go smaller like 10 x 10 on the straight poles. Just make sure that you sand the edges and make it rounded or beveled so it is not poking on the vinyl. It won't hurt the vinyl it is just annoying to step on the wood board. Also, make sure to paint it to protect from water damage. I was able to get 3 years on my board. Most of them are still good but there are a couple that is needed to be replaced. The ones that is needed replacing now are the ones placed at the back by the wall because I don't really access it to wipe off the water after use and the sun can't dry it off as good as the other board. I am selling this pool now and will upgrade to a bigger one. I am also looking at 16' x 10' x 48" is that what you have or do you have the 16' x 10' x 42"? Let me know.
@cliveagate Жыл бұрын
@@diymanual awesome thank you, much appreciated 🙏 and yes I have 42”. I’ve erected and placed the frame over the area I wasn’t to use. @cliveagate Thank you. That is good to know. I was also looking at the something longer but my synthetic grass area is only 12 feet so I guess I am limited to 10ft wide. How much is the total width of your 16 x 10 including the side support?

What are the boards you use for under the pool?
@diymanual Жыл бұрын
It's OSB sheating from home depot. I bought a full sheet then have home depot cut it in to 12" x 16" and 12" x 24" for me. Then I painted it to protect from water. I have it for 3 years. Some are still in good shape while the ones that is by the wall will now need to be replaced.

How many chlorine tablets do i have to place in the chemconnect?
@diymanual2 жыл бұрын
Every setup is different i.e. climate, water source, bather load etc. But for my use, I put in 3 1 inch tablet every 5 days keeps my water clean. When there is a heavy use day, I would throw in a tablespoon of shock just to help keep the free chlorine level in check.

Hi, when you set it up did it cave in on the sides? If so, how did you fix it?
@diymanual3 жыл бұрын
As you fill it with water, the longer sides will cave in a little this is due to the weight of the water. Just make sure that you keep adjusting the footings until you can't anymore. The sides will fix itself as the water will push it out as the water fills to the top.

Can u tell me wut kind of pump to use for this pool
@diymanual3 жыл бұрын
I just used the pump that came with the pool which is a 530 GPH pump from bestway. If you need to buy a new pump I would suggest get one of the higher rated pump for above ground pool so it is easer to keep your pool clean. The hose that connects to the pump is 1.25 diameter.

How is the pool holding up? Do you have any issues with rusting?
@diymanual2 жыл бұрын
I have 2 years on the pool already and I will be putting it up again this June to late September or mid October. Yes there is rusting in the places where the connectors are and also inside of the U footing. What I do is I sand the rusted area and paint it again after each season. I also spray the inside with rust converter to convert the rust I can't reach to a hard surface.

I’m thinking of getting a pool similar to this. I have a couple questions! Hopefully you can answer them. Do you run the filter daily when in use? & if you do how long 8 hours a day? Have you noticed on your electric bill has it gone up a lot because of it??
@diymanual2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I ran the filter daily and sometimes we have the filter running when in use but the company advise against it for safety. I run it a minimum of 8 hours everyday. I have solar so I do not really watch the electric use. Anyway, I checked the pump. It did not show how many watts it use but it says it is using 0.6Amps. so that is similar to running a 7 watts LED bulb 120V x 0.6A = 7.2 Watts if I have my calculation correct. The rule is to run the filter for 2 complete turnover and since the filter that comes with this pool is only 530gph and the pool is close to 2000 gallon capacity, it needs to run at least 8 hours for 2 complete turnover. If your water is properly balanced and your chlorine level is good then this pump should be adequate.
