I head out for a Sunday afternoon ride to try and find some nice single but it gets way too hot. So Fire trail it is. While out there I have a chat about the bike combination I have and the 690 improvements.

Those fire-road whoops look like a blast. Enjoyed the reminiscing about riding those same trails with your son, reminds me of learning how to snowboard with my own son, and the trails that used to be too steep and gnarly for him - not any more they're not!

Hi Bigals yeah sold the 690 now and going to the 2021 and wouldn't sort of maybe going to a 480 Beta but only if I get the right money for the 390. Lol your all over it

I went away from the D606 for the same reason. They were noisy. Have now changed to the M21 and much happier. Slightly bigger blocks, much quiter, slightly less KM on the rear. The front has more grip than the 606 and will last between 8-10000 km.

Hi Moto Suzuki, is that tyre the Dunlop D952 M21? Otherwise what brand are you talking for the M21. Thanks for watching Regards Steve

I currently have a 2017 DRZ400S that I modded for trail riding in the US in NE Wisconsin and am looking at buying a new 2023 Beta 390RR. I have a few questions, how is the reliabilty of the bike I know they recommend a engine rebuild at 80 hours which is totally unacceptable to me. What kind of range do you get on a tank of gas? I am retired and want a bike that is lighter and better in the woods. Think this wood be a great upgrade for my riding of mostly logging roads and dual tracks?

Hi Bill will reply later on my PC but too much typing on a phone Regards Steve

Hi Bill, yeah the 390 has nearly the same bore and stroke as the DRZ so it should be very easy transition. The 390 is the longer stroking motor of all the Beta's so its the easiest to ride and Beta's are the market leader in building 4T that are super agile. I have never ridden or owned a bike that rides as agile and light as the 390. With regard to rebuilds and oil changes Beta have assumed the bike is going to be ridden under race conditions and so service intervals are specified accordingly. For myself I change the oil every 1000 -1500 KMs and I simply do not even think about a rebuild until I've done 5000 KMS and realistically somewhere between 5000 and 10,000kms. Work on about 170 KMs per tank as a range guidance. Great bikes mate I don't think you be disappointed Regards Steve

Hi. I really enjoy your trips. I’m curious on the bar to peg measurements. I’m a 6’4’ tall on the older husky te. Lower pegs and bar risers How does the beta suit a tall long arms and legs. Thanks Adam

Hi Adam How do u measure bar to peg? Is it tip of handle bar to tip of peg? Thanks for the compliment Regards Steve
@adamp74482 жыл бұрын
@@dirtbikeadv hi Steve 2 ways. Direct bar to pegs seat triangle. But I do. This drop a line from the handle bar grip to the ground. Plumb bob. Then measure horizontal from line to peg. Similar if yywere to line bike to bike I was shocked to see the massive difference between my husky 2010 model to a late model yz250fx.

Why did you decide on the 480 over the 390?
@dirtbikeadv Жыл бұрын
Hi DB I just felt like I was working the 390 a little hard. I'm 100kgs and with some camping gear I felt I had to wring it's neck a bit. Not a big loss with the agility hopefully but the extra 90 CC will just do it easier Thanks for watching Regards Steve
