I used to have a lot of flame outs on my Honda. Raising the idle helped but what helped the most was using the clutch to regulate my speed vs the throttle. Keep the throttle active and feather the clutch constantly. Took a while to learn but it helped a lot. 👍✌️

I think I finally realized that - seems like everything would be better if you could snap the throttle shut like on a two stroke? Is that asking so much? Lol - but I see now that I need to disengage the clutch and just keep the gas on. I’ll see what I can do!

You've improved so much since your last video. Your getting your front tire up and over obstacles much better.

It’s a lot more fun, that is for sure 👍

Foxboro has no easy sections, great riding and a great way to close the season. Thanks.

rode tubes all my life - over 35 years off road, bought an exc500 - it came with mousses and was my 1st try, i can not go back to tubes now, here i ride sooo much sharp rock and i care zero about the rock or punctures and that is great, yeah it takes a bit to get used to that none lively feel but it is second nature in no time - that bed in time is nothing considering the benfits of riding without worry if you ask me

I bought a set - can’t wait to try them 👍

Riding them in the new 200 - they are good. No flats! Ever!

I ride a 2023 ktm 350 xcf and it doesn't flame out unless I make a mistake. It's a 4-cycle, so give it gas before an obstacle and use your clutch to control power delivery. You need to load the flywheel. Up here, in Quebec, the trails I ride are much tighter and rocky, so I guess I had to learn how to ride this type of terrain with a 4-stroke.

Thanks - I’m getting better with it. Loading the flywheel is a helpful way to think about it - I appreciate the tip.

I live 15 minutes from Foxboro, I swear Jim O and I bumped into you the very 1st time you rode Rockboro 😎

You never forget your first trip to Foxboro. If I swearing, crying and picking up my bike, then that would be me.

You just asked where the arrows started and you were solo, we offered to ride with you and you declined, on. A KTM 200 I think 😊

Had to be me. That was many years ago! Quite a coincidence. Can’t wait to go back 👍

Let me know when, I’m a slow 61 year old, I do have 2 enduro championships but you would never know it. Off like a heard of turtles 😎

Flame outs would improve with better clutch control, or if you want the ultimate riding experience go with a auto clutch.

I’m following you - and the clutch is the answer. But to fight the hypo: I’m surprised that the design doesn’t allow for closed throttle!

if you don"t have it, +200 idling map is mandatory ;) Im a shitty rider, zero flame out, nada with +200; Thks for the video. .Always nice narrative !

I plan to get it - although stalling has decreased with experience/“skill.” Wouldn’t mind the extra insurance!

Used 2022 390rrs in my area might go take a look at it. What’s a fair price for one? 1700 miles 79hrs
@eddielawsonjr.8705 Жыл бұрын
7-8k depending on miles hours etc 👍

Seems like you are riding a gear too high in those moments that you flame out. You can't lug as much with a 4 stroke. I also have a Beta 390 and I ride pretty technical stuff in Mexico and I don't have a lot of issues with flame outs but then again I've been riding thumpers for a loooong time. Really enjoy your videos, keep em coming!

I agree rider error is the main culprit - maybe I’m too used to two strokes? Stay tuned. Mexico riding sounds phenomenal!
