Also with my r9 lite pro with ELRS module I have flown at 500mW no issue testing. And even ran 1w and played with radio not flying m and seemed to work fine and not lose connection or t-lite freeze.

Do you have to run external power on the t lite if you run the ELRS module above 100mw? I'm also guessing that some company will put out a dedicated ELRS 2.4 game style tx soon. Thanks

Great video, Captain. I'd just made the switch a couple of months ago to Crossfire and bought the Tango 2. My understanding is this ELRS module will fit on it as well. I may wait a few months for hardware/software to mature a bit as I've seen minor issues but don't recall if it was the BETAFPV module or the Happymodel one. I agree it will be integrated quickly into the hobby.

You should ask your question to someone that has the same drone and radio that you have. I’ve never used that drone. If you look on goggle it says: Binding Procedure "Bind" button in the Betaflight Configurator, Receiver Page (if can't be found, update the Betaflight firmware). using the CLI, type in bind_rx and press enter once. press the bind button on the flight controller. using the CLI, type in set expresslrs_uid = 0 , press enter once, then save and reboot.

As the pins on the adapter are always live can you leave the LRS unit fitted to the T-lite and switch it off independently (I can see what looks like a button on the LRS) so it doesn`t drain the battery when using multi protocol etc?

It comes with two antennas. The second antenna (that I did not use) is a directional antenna for long range in one direction. Betafpv sells different antennas.

Oh man this hobby is something else. I'm going to have to break down and invest in this elrs stuff for my jumper t lite. And with the Eachine shadowfiend and other cruiser drones I have, it should work just fine I think. Thanks for the information about the 2.4g because I wasn't sure what to get. Still don't know what I need for the drone, I have XM+ right now, not sure what I need to make it express elrs or what I need to do in betaflight etc... But I see it's the way of the future.

You would need to buy an ELRS drone because the receive is often built into the flight controller on the tiny drones.

I was just talking with Albert Kim about this and he said there's a lot of flashing that needs to be done to open tx and the receivers for use with the Jumper T Lite, and I really don't like flashing things or messing with stuff like that. I think I will wait for awhile to see what changes may come about with Express elrs. You made it look so easy though

@@DougEfresh. oh I kept it easy for sure as I hate how people make things over complicated. No flashing for me. I just downloaded the ULA script for ELRS and stuck it in the Tools directory of Open TX which is on my Jumper T-Lite. Then to bind to the drone it is the simple task of plugging in a USB cable to the drone and the other end to a power source. Each time you connect a power source a light on the drone comes on. What you to have happen is for the light to come on 3 times. You do this each time power is applied. On the 3rd application of power the drone goes into bind mode and you leave the power connected. It is at this point you select bind on the radio.

Great review, but That's not a toothpick, or even close. Toothpicks don't have long bodies, They have thin, single piece arms that resemble toothpicks coming out from a central body. What you have there is a freestyle frame. or more specifically, an Open arm, squashed X freestyle frame.

You're right, but to be fair, BetaFPV calls this thing a toothpick... for some reason. Of course BetaFPV thinks 18000KV motors are good on a 3", so they don't have much credibility. I think calling this thing a toothpick is about as credible as calling Captain Drone's Jeep a go cart.

As far as I'm aware if you purchase the HD version of the drone you should be able to use the goggles but from what I remember the controller is not able to be used with anything but the DJI fpv drone. I may be wrong but that's what I remember seeing, dji does have a controller that works that way but not that specific one.

Mr. Frosties, the DJI FPV goggles work with digital fpv drones. You have to go into the menu screen, find the about screen and change it to fpv. The Grey controller is not for the FPV hobby. You need the black one or any hobby rc controller on the market.

Not yet. I heard someone say they talking trying to get it done but nothing happening yet. But being open source no reason jumper can't add it. Stupid not to.. might just be capped at lower mW but still be a long range.

Hi there have been watching your vids for a while I’m a DJI mini owner but want to get into tiny whoop fpv looking at all of the kits you have reviewed. I recently started to wear glasses and noticed that many of the combo headsets are not foureyed friendly! Are the any kits with variable focus goggles? If not what separate type of beginner tiny whoop and goggles, controller etc would you recommend for glasses wearers If you did a vid about it that would be cool. Cheers

Most of these kits have small size goggles. In each review I mention if the goggles will fit over glasses. I think the Eachine Novice IV kit had goggles that fit over my glasses.

That is OPEN TX, so you go to the OPEN TX website and download the correct version for your radio, stick in on the micro sd card, put it in your radio and run a firmware update.

Steve, what is the purpose of all these ELRS and Crossfire systems claiming to have a 35+km range when a batery lasts for3-5 min? Still don't get the logic. Besides most country regulations doesn't allow to fly out of sight.

In the FPV RC Hobby every pilot soon leans how to "tinker" with their drone to get more from it. This is why there are tons of reviews of people flying close up the side of mountains for miles upon miles. Unlike an off the shelf drone, such as a DJI drone where you are stuck with what you received, an FPV drone can be heavily modified, so you can change to a larger frame, larger motors and keep the same transmission system, etc. Finally, in the FPV hobby you always want power of transmission because it is the only drone hobby where you fly low to the ground behind tons of objects and through tons of objects, so the connection must remain strong.

As a new fpv novice, why should I buy ELRS stuffs when it's still 3-5 minutes flying time, short distance, and ELRS hardware costs extra 40$ for transmitter and receiver add on. I guess for now i just buy controller that later I can add ELRS if there are long range quads available.

The jumper t-lite can bind to the tiny hawk 2 (it comes with an antenna). You don’t need the ELRS transmitter because Emax is a bit behind the game and currently has no ELRS drones

Yes, works directly. Since Express LRS is new, the driver for it is probably not on your radio so you have to download a tiny file, stick it on a micro as card & put that in your radio. Do a search for LUA script express LRS.
