Betancuria has been voted one of the prettiest towns in Spain. Once the capital of Fuerteventura, now it is home to just under 1,000 permanent residents who welcome thousands of tourists to see the towns historical importance for themselves. We start our visit at Mirador de Morro Velosa. Situated on the Tegú Mountain with a height of approximately 645 meters, it's located between the protected Betancuria Rural Park and the Valle de Santa Inés. The views are breathtaking and must be seen for yourself! The viewpoint around the next bend features two statues of Fuerteventura's former kings, Guise and Ayose.
Betancuria has a free visitor car park with newly renovated toilets. (It's just past La Casa del Queso which can be found easily on Google Maps). Enjoy a walk around the town, its shops and restaurants and don't forget to visit the newly opened (Jan 2021) Museum of Archaeology (Museo Arqueológico de Fuerteventura).
Don't forget your camera, there are lots of photo opportunities in the beautiful town of Betancuria!

Hi, another great film, thank you. We have been there on a organised island tour with TUI from the hotel we stayed in Jandia. It was an excellent tour, but a long day out. I would like to spend more time in Betencuria. We will visit again on our next trip to Fuerteventura. Thanks for the video. Betancuria is a beautiful place. We visited on a coach trip many years ago but your video shows it is well worth spending much more time there. Wow looks amazing!! We haven’t visited any of the villages yet while staying in Caleta! As have our 92 year old mother with us & not good on her feet!!. But hopefully when we come out in Oct this year we will be able to visit more places!! & look for properties at the same time!. Lovely video ladies as always!!. Xx

Brilliant video once again thanks you girls for this. I think this place is stunning its one if the very first outings we did in fueterventura about 18 years ago but sadly didn't do the lookout bit .... perhaps wasn't around then. But we went to the church and the area around and I just remember all the beautiful colour from the flowers. I woukd love to go back but nit on a bus trip it would have to be a car hire instead; you see more then. Looking forward to the next one. Stay safe take care Kirsty 🙂

I love Betancuria, too. Thanks for the view from Mirador. I‘ll have to go there next time. That souvenir shop is great. I always try to buy souvenirs in support. Have you ever tried taking a walk on the Eremita de la Peña route? That was an easy, but beautiful walk. It was a challenge for couch potato me, but the rest of my family loved it.

I remember putting a euro in that loo door & it did not work. The lady came from the shop & opened it with a key. Also bought quite a lot of gifts, Coffee mugs & ornaments from that shop. Beautiful small town/village. .

Hi Amelia and Sarah, Betancuria is a lovely place to visit i remember near the shop there is a small workshop with people in traditional dress oh and sometimes there is a guy playing guitar in the square, That new museum looks superb if i would go back whenever i am allowed too!!.

Great work again both. Myself, husband and friends did a trip here with Cool Runnings trike tours from Caleta. Booked an 8 hr trip taking us right to the top and we fed the ravens whilst there. An amazing day out and well worth it. Defo visit again when we’re back on the island. Let’s hope it’s not long before we visit again. 👍

If you follow the road out of Betancuria FV30 just along the valley to Vega de Rio Palmas, lovely restaurant Naturaleza , excellent lunches there .

We have been to Fuerteventura several times, Including Betancuria and your vlogs bring back memories. Thank you for taking the time to do these. X Have you done any vlogs on the Costa de Antigua area? We have stayed there couple times in Cocosol Apts as well as in Caleta de Fuste. Would be nice to see around the area , Crazy Goat and Stoners were always good for a night out. Love the Legends 60’ s bar and weekly “all you can eat” Chinese Buffet in Caleta too ! Hi, yes we've been several times to Betancuria. First time on an organised tour and since then on the local bus. We enjoy it alot and always seem to have an ice cream in the shop at the bottom of the hill next to the bus stop while waiting for the aforementioned. The local bus only comes around periodically so you need to be ready for it!

Hi girls thanks for the video I'll watch it again tonight with sound as I'm at work. I'd read in a guidebook years ago about Betancuria and my friend and I said we should go. We missed the bus one year as we don't drive ai we went to the windmill in Antigua instead which we liked. Were going back to Fuerteventura on the 14th February. I watched a promo video for the town recently and it looked dull and turned me off it. Not that I'm expecting fireworks lol. But watching your far superior video has convinced me I need to go there. Hopefully if we're going by bus we get to see the Mirador too because I love photography and the views look spectacular. We stay in Caleta De Fuste I've and I've visited Corralejo. Any other must see suggestions from anyone would be great.

Hi girls, thanks for your videos mine and my Wifes go to place is always caleta, as it’s close to the airport we always pack light so we can just get off the plane without waiting for suitcases. We’ve never really been around the island but your videos proper help I’m definitely going to hire a car and explore next time we’re over we have 5 kids so it’ll be when we get a cheeky long weekend hopefully 🙏🏾 not too long now. Great vlog ladies, I love Betancuria as well, visited twice during my first stay on the island. A word of caution for nervous drivers though, use the CV30 back to Cuesta del Valle (back the way you came) rather than continuing on towards Pajara, that is one scary road!! I think JP did a great vlog about that drive, alone, because his partner wouldn't accompany him having done it once 😶

Hay que comprar algo. En la isla se preocupan de que todo funcione. Las carreteras, la seguridad, la sanidad, el agua potable. Los alimentos, la energía eléctrica.El aeropuerto. La limpieza de la isla, playas, ciudades y pueblos.Los museos. Hay que pagar y gastar cuando se va a Canarias.
