I wanted to be great and I was, but then they conspired against me. I couldn't touch the sky, but I thought I could. The drugs and booze only brought me down. They couldn't take away the pain. They couldn't take the loss away. They couldn't cure me. They only brought me sadness and anger. The darkness cloaked my fears. Death began visiting me regularly. My mind was coming back to me. God's love began to take away the scars and the pain. Now I stand before you with love for life in my heart and most especially for you. Love has filled all the emptiness and calmed my fears. Though life is not perfect, I've found a way to cope. Love and truth are what guide me now. I only need to know them.

This woman is just awesome! It took me a while to really discover her (for several years I only knew her by name), but this year I had the chance to see her in concert three times. When I heard that first song, I thought, tell me she isn't doing christian music! Then, she lost track of the set, and sat down to play guitar and realized she needed to be at the keyboard and yelled SHIT!!! All is well! 😁 It's the first time I've seen her without a lot of makeup. Saw this band with Beth in France this year and they are well worth it if you get the chance ..........don't know about Steve Costello as he wasn't there, but I really felt for the poor lad at the end of I'd rather go blind when he lost the key ...... I know how that feels!

I think he actually played mostly minor pentatonic over this major harmony. This is why it sounds OK at times, but completely off sometimes. Nothing against him, but I really think this is not his style or gig. PJ Barth fits this gig like a glove. Costello doesn't. I mean, look at their solo work. PJ is a blues player and he plays blues with Beth also. Costello not so much. Just a different kind of a player and the one who (in my opinion) doesn't suit this style. Not bad, just not suitable.

Ouch...don't know much about guitars but I'm thinking that was a string break on a floating vibrato bridge which then caused a massive "tuning" failure. He changes it out pretty quickly at end of song... but Jon, and her band, are always top-notch.

This is the same band she travels with. Today being six yrs. ago. Drum stick spin, that's always cool. Heck, I'm going backwards some. I didn't know she could play guitar and she plays fabulously.
