Listening to this song every day for over a month now. Since July 11th when i was diagnosed with colon cancer until now, August 24th, 2024. His peace covered me head to toe when i heard the surgeon say cancer. I knew He had me in His hands. As i recover from the surgery to remove the cancerous part of my colon and as i approach having surgery to put my port in my chest and then begin chemo treatments, He has given me and my husband Peace like a river...strength, and Joy beyond understanding. Only by His Spirit does a lady like me face this journey with a smile in my heart and a overwhelming love for God. He is my rock and my fortress, in Him will i trust.

I am currently 14 and I struggled with apathy. During worship at my youth group I prayed to Him to let me feel. @@ghostinthesnow4060 AA is not religious. However, they believe in a benevolent God that is part of their group conscious. They’re very vocal about that. The founders of AA were Christians, and adapted AA from the Oxford Group (religious Christian group). AA allows and make room for all religions and spiritualities, as its primary purpose is to help people recover from Alcoholism. I was a leader in the church before my last round about with Alcoholism, so it was important to me as well that AA not be like super demonic or something lol it’s definitely not, though some people there are 😳😂 The most important thing is to remember who YOU ARE and who the Lord is TO YOU, and view AA simply as a therapy or tool through which to achieve healing and freedom. Unfortunately I don’t think enough churches recognize the extent to which even believers really need therapy mental health help. I’d recommend very strongly that you go after your recovery with Jesus and not listen to anything except that which is going to help you heal and become victorious over Alcohol. Ultimately, alcohol is a symptom. It is a medicine. Alcohol is not actually the root issue. AA is very skilled at helping expose the darkness driving the disease, and bringing light where it felt the most dismal.

I was struggling with not being able to forgive people for a long time, because I had felt so hurt, so destroyed and empty because of what so many people had done to me or said to me. I literally carried on for about two years just keeping to myself, keeping conversations to a minimum to avoid being hurt more, to a point where I didn't care about anything anymore. I had lost faith in God, and felt totally alone. But God loved me so much, he didn't want me to live like that. It took me those two years to realize that because I had not had faith, I had not felt it necessary to forgive. I finally turned to God again, and told him, "if you do not help me, I fear I will die." I recommitted my faith to him, and as a step of faith, I had called one of the people that hurt me the most, who never had apologized, and I told him that I forgave him and that I know God forgave him too. He literally broke into tears, saying that he had been waiting for forgiveness from me for 2 years and had been wanting to apologize to me, but felt too ashamed to say anything. He told me how sorry he was, and after I told him I don't need him to say that because I already had forgiven him and didn't expect anything in return, he wept harder. It was then I was able to share the love of God with him, tell him my testimony, and was even able to listen to him getting saved. That was 3 years ago, and one year ago I was able to watch him as he went through water baptism. So no matter how much you feel you aren't worth a grain of sand, you are important enough for God to give away His own Son so that you can be forgiven and have a chance of going to heaven, without giving God anything in return. Amen. Throughout writing this whole comment, I had felt the Holy Spirit so strong on me I almost was slain in the spirit. God wants to do something great in your life, and is waiting for you to let him do it. Will you?

My heart was giving me trouble tonight where I couldn’t sleep because of difficulty breathing. I have already spent a week in the hospital twice. I am on meds now but they have been suggesting open heart surgery. My sister died last January, she didn’t share my faith and had the operation. Sadly it seemed to put her on a revolving door to the hospital. I’m sick of hospitals and I can’t live with a fantasy. I was diagnosed with Stage One Ovarian Cancer this year (2021). This was my song for weeks after my diagnosis as I was recovering from surgery, getting my chemo port in, going to all my appointments, and starting chemo!! I’ll I keep saying is “God is Good” even after surgery and learning my diagnosis. He is always good no matter what happens in our lives. Now I am halfway through chemo, cancer free, and just finishing my chemo treatment to prevent cancer reoccurrence. I remember being in the hospital and feeling his presence so strongly.. his peace filled the room. He is so faithful and through it all he never left my side!!

What the HECK. I did the same thing when my dad passed shortly after this was recorded. I was in the room for this recording and my dad was there too. Two years ago I was going through what is one of the most difficult times in my life, where God said no to my prayers.. I was suffering a lot and would constantly cry... Then I saw a video here on KZbin of Steffany and Jeremy singing this song, and it helped me to understand that He is good even when He said No to my prayers. That video made me see things in a different perspective, because I was soo angry with God. Now I understand why He did what He did back then, and I'm SO glad that He said No, because had he said yes, the rest of my life would have been miserable. This is my favorite song ever, because it helped me to see His goodness in the middle of the worst times. This song will always have a special place in my heart because of that. I have listened to it like a million times since then! :) (specially Steffany's version)... And when I go through difficult days/seasons, I always say to myself, He is Good, He is Good. So whoever reads this, please remember that He is good in the middle of everything. You may not understand now, but you'll thank Him one day. God bless this ministry and Sarah McMillan.
