I feel like as a man, Chris Isaacs resonates more with me... there's an exhaustion about it like 'oh no not again...' and you feel that sexual tension that he's actually trying to express. I agree, her reimagining was inspired. She performed it with authenticity and transformed it into a beautiful expression of herself. But does any song NEED a cover though?? Covers are as subjective as their original counterparts, music is an art form. I've seen some covers that I personally believe out performed their predecessor, but the originals were never created for them to be replicated. Music is a form of self expression and no one "needs" their self expression to be improved upon. Plus, I think you're missing the purpose of a cover. They're meant to be a sign of respect for the original artist's work, not an opportunity to one up them!

WOW. Beth is such a nice person and a cool vocal coach, but I never imagined she was that good as a singer. Most of the vocal coaches are so technical that they lose the emotion somehow. Oh my! I absolutely got goosebumps. I was a singer when I was in school. Performed in competitions and loved it. My mother was a singer in the 1950’s as well. God rest her soul. Jesus, this is good. I've got tears. So I absolutely love the Wicked Games cover by Ursine Vulpine, but for me this brought another level to that. For me this was like taking the best and most beautiful parts of kulning song and then channeled them through the old Irish gods and goddesses.
