No such thing as Byzantine it was all the Roman empire to be honest with each other. !
@NickZaharakisChiefOfficer Жыл бұрын
@krisshu100 The eastern Roman empire is the Byzantine. Basically Greek speaking people that were citizens of the new eastern Roman empire. They took over the ancient Greek colonies that were on Asia Minor . Greek culture formed what is called Byzantium. Byzantine art originated and evolved from the Christianized Greek culture of the Eastern Roman Empire; content from both Christianity and classical Greek mythology were artistically expressed through Hellenistic modes of style and iconography. Were Byzantines ethnically Greek? In this view, as heirs to the ancient Greeks and of the Roman state, the Byzantines thought of themselves as Rhomaioi, or Romans, though they knew that they were ethnically Greeks.

@krisshu100 Agreed that it is a name but with a meaning ... to them a Byzantine was all that eastern and distinguished culture that made it differ from the Western Roman empire. It's soul was Greek but it's might was Roman. You would have to see how they were seeing themselves back them a citizen of Rome but a Greek at roots.

@@krisshu100 It's the term to use to differentiate the two, while also attributing the differences in culture. Names exists to identify differences, thus a name is always more than just a name.

Years ago I zoomed in this video to see the brand of guitar and how much his guitar is worth and I think it was like $10,000. Don’t spare the cash if you want to be the best. And he is. I dare you to go to any Greek island sit at a restaurant eating fresh fish with horta and a glass of white wine while listening to Mr. Vertis singing on the speakers and tell me then if you’re not in a romantic mood. 💖💕❣️

It does sound kind of middle eastern, but this is a relatively new and controversial trend in Greek music (most of these songs are pretty bad, to be honest).

@@chorophylax Are you a greek bro? Just curious But to your point i think it is normal i mean completely normal Different melodies are made for different tastes For example in iran most of iranians doesn't like western type of melodies but of course younger generations get along with and even prefer western songs over persian songs But for most of persian traditional song lovers western melodies and songs are kinda sucks and for most of the westerners persian melodies are sucks as well As i said before different themes comes from different perspectives and different tastes But i think part of your opinion about his type of melody is coming from different linguistics and how different languages act differently in different melodies A melody that may sound great in persian may sound crap in greek or vise versa

@@alirezarezaei2976 I'm from Greece, yes, and my musical tastes are pretty traditional. My favorite genre, rebetiko (songs of the old Greek underworld) doesn't sound very "western". Also, I really enjoy the classical music of Iran and countries with similar traditions. But here I'm talking about the negative influence of some commercial trends. Back in the 1950s, Indian movies and songs were popular in Greece, so some composers started copying Indian songs or composing new ones in this style. This damaged the Greek music (which was strong at the time), despite the fact that a few of those songs were good. The same happens now with the middle eastern (mostly Arabic) influences. I like this song by Vertis and a few more, but there is also too much "cheap" stuff of this sort nowadays and we lose connection with our own traditions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goeUnIWCqK92eNE

That's because musically Greece is part of middle Eastern music. They had different scales and notes and played part in forming the eastern culture. People identify Greece with the west, because of the Christian Vs muslim nation's dichotomy. But Greece had presence and ruled the east for centuries, and it was an integral part of forming what we call today middle Eastern culture and music

NEXT GREEK SONG PLEASE Pyx Lax is one of the most iconic Greek rock bands, formed in 1989 by Philippos Pliatsikas, Manos Xydous, and Babis Stokas. Their name, Pyx Lax (Πυξ Λαξ), translates to "punches and slaps" in Greek, metaphorically representing the ups and downs of life. Their sound is a blend of rock, folk, and traditional Greek elements, a fusion that made them widely beloved in Greece. Their lyrics often explored themes of love, heartache, and social issues, resonating with a broad audience.
