Tbh, most times translations don't do songs justice. It's not just the songs but only by knowing the direct translation and cultural significance accompanied by knowing at the right time why some particular words, syllables or letters are sometimes emphasized that you get to connect at the level it was intended. Hey, there's a lot of beautiful music I don't fully understand either but I'm in awe of the crumbs I'm able to gather 😂

The lyrics for you: The Sad Man How sad it was to say goodbye, When we adored each other so much, Even the swallow migrated Foreshadowing the end. How sad everything is without you, The seas of the beaches are gone, All colours turn dyed in gray, Everything is loneliness now. I don't know If I'll see you once again, I don't know what will become of my life without the blue star of your being no longer sheding light on me. Today I want to taste out my pain, I'm not asking for compassion nor mercy This love story was written to be eternal "What a sad man", everyone says I am, That I'm always talking about you They don't know that by thinking of your love, of your love, I've been able to help myself carry on living. Today I want to taste out my pain, I'm not asking for compassion nor mercy This love story was written to be eternal "What a sad man", everyone says I am, That I'm always talking about you They don't know that by thinking of your love, of your love, I've been able to help myself carry on living

Roberto Cantoral wrote this song to his mom that had just passed away, it’s about how he feels so much pain losing a loved one, he was waiting for just the right person to sing it and got a couple of options the girl that was number one or this young man that was just starting but that was really good: Jose Jose, he was entered in this show with”El triste” song but didn’t win, it was all about the songs not the singer, he got third place, and people always said he was “the king with no crown “ to this day no one remembers the first place song and the singer, he had a very tormented life, happy times and very hard times, but he always survived everything including his drinking problem which almost killed him, in his last years he couldn’t sing anymore he lost his voice, he could barely talk, if you guys didn’t know him I invite you to check out his songs and videos of his life, he was he is and will be “ el principe de la canción” forever y para siempre😪❤️

So he is able to trnasmit a love and the sadness he feels for not having "her" in her life. "The story of this love was written for eternity"... you dont know but.. I don't think he had an appetite for self destruction. He raised to popularity very young and bad influences guided him to alcoholism. They ran his bank account and left him broke and addict. He realized he didn't want that live and registered in AA, he stayed sober for several years, but in the set of the movie "Gavilan o Paloma" some actors insisted in making him drink even knowing he was an alcoholic in recovery and made him fall again, to the point of becoming homeless and without any medical insurance he got some infection in his throat that killed his voice. He met his second wife in his worst point, but with some support from her and from AA again, he recovered and stayed sober for the last two decades. El apodo se lo dio el periodista Juan el "gallo" calderón. Y no fue por su voz, fue por su vestimenta. Dándole el mote el príncipe por si voz y la magistral interpretación en un juego de palabras lo bautizo como "el príncipe de la canción"

The Sad one How sadly it was to say you goodbye When we loved each other more, Until the swallow emigrated, Heralding the end. How sadly everything looks without you The seas of the beaches leave, The colors of gray are dyed Today everything is loneliness. I don't know if I see you again later I don't know what my life will be, Without the blue star of your being That doesn't light me anymore. Today I want to taste my pain, I don't ask for compassion or mercy, The story of this love was written For eternity. The Sad one, everyone says that I am, that I'am always talking about you, They don't know that thinking about your love, In your love I've been able to help me to live, I've been able to help me to live. uoooooohhh, oooooohhhh. Today I want to taste my pain, I don't ask for compassion or mercy, The story of this love was written For eternity. The Sad one, everyone says that I am, that I'am always talking about you, They don't know that thinking about your love, In your love I've been able to help me to live, I've been able to help me to live, I've been able to help me to live.
