I’m a 57 year old vocalist and have watched a ton of reviews on Billie Eilish, yours is the best. Explaining correct technique yet accepting her own style. I absolutely love Billie and her brother Finneas! Hard for the youngsters to impress this ole bulldog. But I am a total super fan. And love you reactions and knowledge! Keep up the great work everyone!!

I've watched a bunch of 'vocal coaches react' vids now and so far yours has the most substance to it - instead of just sitting back and going 'wowsogood' you actually talk about how she's doing those things with her voice and how you might learn to do them as well. The technical breakdown you have here is great and a lot of other coaches don't have it!

I was born in 81, and I'm not moved by many artists of today, Billie is an exception. I'm a 90's kid at heart and love bands like The Cranberries, Whooty, Sarah McLachlan, Shererl Crow, etc. But Billie's voice just moves me, just love the way she sings.

The man behind that wonderful Orchestra is none other than HANS ZIMMER, one of the most important film composers of our generation - I'm glad everyone's latching onto his work with his collaboration with Billie :D most people know him as the guy who did Pirates of the Carribean, he also for Inception came up with that dramatic/epic/symphonic "BRRRUUUMMMM" sound you see in almost every intense movie trailer now too (which he pokes fun at in interviews lol)

I really enjoy Billie's singing, and her music in general, because she uses subtlety of nuance and silence in her music. As you said, she draws you in and captivates. Very little pop music utilizes the lower dynamic range, and since she requires no auto tune, all those micro-shadings are there.

Hi Beth, I have just come across you and watched lots of your videos this morning, they’re fab 😊 I’m in Aberdeen and would love to book some lessons with you. I had a look on your website and see that you have no space but wondered when it’s likely you will have availability? I need to learn some techniques for a project I’ve been asked to be part of, especially a rock vocal, grittiness and how to reach high notes without my voice breaking on me. I can sing but I’ve only ever had 2 lessons and after watching your videos I’ve realised I should’ve been having them all along for control and to get my voice where it could be with the right training. The Lyrics of Elis Regina song. "I don't want to talk, my greatest love, About things that I've learned from my vinyls I want to tell you how my life was like And about all that betided me To live is better than dreaming . I know that love is a pretty good thing But I also know that any place is smaller than anyone's life For this reason, watch out, darling, The danger is waiting around the corner They won and the way is now barred to us, the youngs. To embrace your brother and kiss your girl in the street is what your arms, your lips and your voice are made for You ask me what's my new passion I say I'm wondered at all this, it feels like a new invention I'm going to stay at this city, I'm not coming back to the backwoods Because I sense the smell of the new season hovering in the wind I can learn anything through this wound, that lives within my heart It's been a while since I saw you in a street With the wind blowing in your hair, Along young people, all joined together. Hanging up on my mind's wall, The memory of this is the frame that hurts me most My pain is to realize that despite all we have done We are still the same as before and live... We are still the same and live as lived our parents Our idols are still the same And the appearances don't disguise it at all You say that after them, no new idols have ever existed You may even say that I'm out-of-date, that I made up all this But it's you the one who loves the past and can't see that new times will always come Now I've learned that the man who taught me of a new conscience and youth is now sitting at home, guarded by Lord, counting coins of vain money My pain is to realize that despite all we've done We are still the same as before and live... We are still the same and live as lived our parents lyricstranslate.com..." =D

Really liked the clarity in breaking down this theme song. I now appreciate more the nuances in the singing. However, as a lifetime Bond fan, I would have preferred to hear more power. I felt it held back when it needed to soar. Alll the great Bond songs had emotional range, this one stays rooted in grief but never really expresses the Bond character for rage. I have the same comment for many of the recent Bond movies. I feel they are using young pop artists to attract a new generation of fans. All part of the evolution of the Bond character or losing its identity - hard to say. Perhaps Bond is killed off in this film and then the theme song will be a swan song and then it will all make sense!

This song, Adele's 'Skyfall' and Sam Smith's 'Writing's on the Wall' have managed to capture the classic Bond theme vibe of the 60s to a T. There have been many great Bond themes in the meantime ('Live and Let Die', 'Nobody Does it Better', 'The Living Daylights'...'A View to a Kill' was okay except for the dated production) but this new crop have been some the best ever. Yet pop music in general has never been worse.

i liked it quite a bit and i think the issues people seem to have with the live performance is mostly to do with the live mixing of her mics volume, could do with bumping up a tad for the actual films opening but otherwise she can sing great in this understated style, the only reason i don't like her discography is mostly to do with the fact that she really hasn't shown much range at all throughout. like i would love her vocals to suddenly explode in one song to a full volume and really show off her full range. until i hear that she can really punch it if she wants she won't reach anything close to the top of my GOAT list.

bowser8375 I think that’s a bit harsh to say....Yes vocally those artists have a higher range and are extremely talented, but it’s actually very hard to have control over your lower ranges whilst singing softly like billie does and you can’t discredit her talent. She clearly connects with people and brings so much emotion to her performances, her song writing and vision is incredible. There’s a reason so many people like her - she doesn’t need to have the highest belting notes (those other artists you mentioned have it covered), she is unique and different with a beautiful tone to her voice and is extremely talented otherwise she wouldn’t be where she is with so many people (and top music artists) respecting her work

Ten Second Songs covered this song in the style of Chris Cornell, and not to say it's better than the original, but it's just really amazing

is she still around? Are you talking about the Duffy who used to singing "stepping stone"? I really liked that woman, she was great! But she disappeared :(

Not too bad, not too bad at all. Big shoes to try to fill, Paul McCartney and Wings set a pretty high bar for Bond Songs. (Will have to see how, or if, it fits the movie)

Hello, Beth. I respectfully request a reaction to one song written by the great late Mexican songwriter and singer JUAN GABRIEL, but, sung by ANA GABRIEL who took Gabriel as part of her stage name out of admiration for Juan Gabriel. A few voice teachers have reacted to her singing this song but I would love to hear yours. The emotion poured by Ana in this performance is soul shaking and I know you will love her unusual but beautiful voice. Thank you for your time and attention to this request.

I can’t help but compare her to Corrine Bailey Rae, the British singer-songwriter who topped the charts with her great song: “Put Your Records On.”
