This song came to my mind for no reason today. It took me some meditating before I could remember the name and lyrics to look up the song. There was a Canadian band in the 90s out of Toronto named Moxy Fruvous. They did a beautiful acapella duet of this song with wonderful harmonies. I listened to several versions of this song, and this was the closest to their version but without the harmony. They must have heard her version. I should see if she is Canadian

I heard her play and sing one night in some small joint in Underground Atlanta in the spring of 1977 or 1978. I was 1000 miles from home in Atlanta for some fool professional convention or another, and I never rencountered her again. Besides being talented, she was cordial, stopping at my table for a few minutes of chit chat. In those days, there was plenty of good local talent around the country that would not tour much. But it is surprising that there are 692 comments here with such a scarcity of info turning up.

@@carolerichoux4891 Carole -- There was an album I had back in 1974 that came out in 1970 on a San Francisco label by a female vocalist named Victoria, called The Secret of the Bloom, kind of a folk-country feel, and I always loved it. There's a nice version of Warren Zevon's "Tule's Blues" and Stephen Stills' "Helplessly Hoping," but my favorite song on it is the second cut on Side A, called "Out in the County" (usually mistyped as Country). I think there may be some Internet info on her, can't remember. But if this message allows me to I will paste the KZbin link to her album that somebody uploaded. Scratches and pops, and much, much better listening on your own record player, but it suffices. It the link isn't here, just search KZbin for Victoria - Secret of the Bloom and it will take you right there. I think she had a second album, but not sure it was ever released. Love her voice. - KaatClove kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5urZoV8d959pa8

Or PF Sloane, look up his "Divinations". So good, English indie rocker Thom Yorke and Radiohead (which themselves at times could quality as Psych) decided to lift the melody for their Street Spirit.

Listening to Betsy Legg I close my eyes and hear Joan Baez. Both ladies have magnificent voices.
