I've loved Elvis for decades. Met him at "The Louisiana Hayride" in '54/55, I grew up with him. Attended 15+ concerts in my day. He got so familiar with me being at the Hayride every Saturday until '56, the last time he did the show, Dec. '56, that a few of his shows in TX. he would say his #1 Fan was always there and say my name and he'd say stand up sweetheart. I received several scarves and was kissed double kisses with those Luscious lips of his many, many times. We became social friends for years, then I enrolled at LSU in Baton Rouge. Many times he would drive to see me and stay in my apartment. I'll leave my private story there. I will LOVE HIM forevermore. Rest in Eternal Pease my Love now that Lisa Marie is there with you forever. You'll live in my heart forever. 💋💋💜💔💔🖤🙏✝🙏❤❤❤

I have seen footage of Elvis saying so and Elvis remembering the price of a concert ticket and praying to give the fans the best show even sick with the flu. Elvis many times at Graceland would walk down to the gate and visit with the fans. One more point you only realize how talented this Man was if you dig deep into His music, Elvis was held back by His success so if you dig deep into His music such as His Gospel and the few more modern songs you will realize His talent.

He sang from deep within his soul.. You can feel it when you hear his voice. If only we can turn back the hands of time... 💞

I thought I had listened to all of Elvis’s songs. Never heard that one before. I have been listening to Elvis since I was 5 years old. My mom Loved him. And now I am 76 and still listening. My brother loved Elvis use to sing his songs and pretend. The Lord took him home at the age of 17.

One of the greatest covers of a Gordon Lightfoot song ever. Shows how many artists truly admired and loved the craft of one of the past century's greatest singers and songwriters. Any artist who performed Lightfoot did it out of respect and admiration for his artistry. Gordon and Elvis you are both greatly missed by everyone who has been touched by your music. I would bet the great James Burton is playing guitar on this too.

I was a young child when I could tell my mother loved Elvis. I grew up loving his music and performances too just like Mom. In those days, I had to be asleep by 9pm, but I clearly remember her sobbing from my bedroom as she watched the nightly news-10pm- and heard of his passing. Im pushing 57 y/o now, but can tell you that despite his 'issues', there will never ever be another King. Now he rests with his mother and God Speed to Lisa Marie.

Awe, beautiful memories you have. I also sobbed when Elvis died. I was 18. It felt like I'd lost a family member. I would lie on the carpet infront of my record player, play his Graceland LP and sob! ❤🇿🇦🎶

I was in Albuquerque, NM watching TV when the news came on the air that EP had passed. Later, I got on a Greyhound bus to Farmington, NM & I remember some passengers shocked & talking amongst themselves about EP. All I heard was EP music on most radio stations. I remember EP's passing like it occurred yesterday, how the weather was, what I was wearing & sipping a bottle of Wild Turkey that I had in my bag. RIP Elvis

Love how he cups his hand around the mic at the beginning lines of the song to enhance the intimacy of this beautiful song.
@metalguru52263 жыл бұрын
He's trying to get enough volume into the mic on the very low notes of the song. Notice how he also puts the mic as close as possible to his lips for the same purpose. He was a master of microphone techniques.
@starsong70813 жыл бұрын
@@metalguru5226 He sure was, people could learn a thing or two when it comes to his mic technics and control, as you said it he was a MASTER ⚡️

No he was reading some words, the mic acutaly made the words of the song lower and les impactful.

@@Mulberry2000 Complete nonsense. Why would he cup his mouth to READ the lyric card? LOL! As a musician myself, it's very obvious to me what he was doing. Anyone with a functioning brain cell could see that.
