People with plants are crazy responsible. Madddd respect!! I’m a first time plant mom. I’m attempting at keeping Greg (my fist plant, a polka dot plant) alive, and now I have my succulent mini, and angel (my begonia Rex).Tysm for the tips!! Loveeed the video.

What perfect timing! I just got my first begonia and I knew they were sensitive but I didnt know what they wanted. I got a gorgeous begonia escargot. I'm considering a bell jar for it but its crammed in the middle of my plant shelf to help with humidity.

I just purchased my first Begonia (Rex) from Lowe’s for $1! I can’t wait to learn about it and your video was great! I’m loving the dramatic plants so this’ll be perfect! Your voice is amazing by the way and I’m sure my Gia (that’s her name lol) will be happy I found your videos!

I got a Rex Begonia last month. I’m hoping I don’t succumb to killing my first one and get beginner’s luck. Lol So far he’s been happy with his window mates. I will say I’ve never seen a more dramatic plant from under watering than the begonia. It’s like a child than throws a temper tantrum and then stops like nothing happened after you give it a happy meal. Also I appreciate and love that you’re promoting #BLM all the way from Europe. I’m a first time plant parent and I recently discovered your channel and I’m loving the content!

The pain to pleasure ratio of begonias is too much for me. I like to enjoy my plants, not constantly stress. I’ll just admire them from a distance. 😍😍😍

I just like to stick them in jars. You can leave them alone in there for weeks without watering and they burst with growth. 🤷♀️

I was looking for Rex Begonia care and clicked on your video because your channel has Begonia in its name, and I am _not_ disappointed. So entertaining and informative 👏 I want to start collecting begonias because they're _so pretty,_ but I don't know how to care for them. I have 3 begonias. One is a cane Begonia that always grows big and beautiful and then has a tantrum and throws all her leaves at me (an ongoing cycle for the last 3 years), one is a very sad 1-leaved rex, and the last is a rex that is happy & beautiful because I've owned it for less than 24 hours 😅 Once I master the care for these, I'll start adding to my collection. I expect your channel to be a new favorite as I navigate my not-quite-homicidal journey collecting Begonias.

This was so informative! In NH, US we have such damp summers that all my outdoor squash plants WILL get mildew. But our winters are so dry!! Looks like I'll be moving my begonia into the bathroom this winter.

I find rizomatus begonias to be quite say as long as you choose the right ones. The thin leaved ones and especially the rex begonias are susceptible to powdery mildew and are quite finicky, but the 'leathery' leaved ones, like 'tiger kitten', 'cleopatra' or 'persian brocade' are quite easy to grow as long as you give them the right light. Nice video, thanks Betsy!

Thank you very much for sharing. I am currently doing experiments with my begonias on semi hydroponics. I have a Little Brother Montgomery - cane begonia - that was at the end of extinction when I placed it in perlite and ignored it for weeks and now it's back! Looking lusher than ever. But Powdery mildew is my worst enemy I really hate it so much!!! I treat the leaves with 3% hydrogen peroxide diluted in water plus I have added a fan to my "begonia corner" hopefully, that'll do the job... to soon to know. Regards from Scotland :)

6:10 Nope 😂. Here I am in Tempe AZ and I keep my Fedor in ambient humidity, usually around 35-40 percent and he's doing fine. Actually popping off with 8 new leaves and 4 more coming in. He just released a bloom but has 5 more coming in. I do keep mine in pon but other than that I take regular care of it. So idk if mine is a freak of nature or I just have that magic touch. Also, he's my first ever begonia and has just been thriving.

Hi. I know this is an old video. I’m wondering if you know if I can keep my prop (rescued-from me) in Sphagnum moss? I propped her from the last sad leaves and got 3 babies who have been living in this jar for 5 months. She’s a Rex Harmony’s Moody Mauve.

Betsy, I love your videos!! This might be a weird question on a plant video....but, over lock down my hair grew out. Well, I've been letting it grow out since the beginning of the year, but I know that at some point in April or May, I would have gotten tired of dealing with it, and got the chop...but I didn't. Now, being in a salon isn't something I'm wanting to go do. I love how you pull your hair back. Would you mind sharing how you do your hair like this? lol I'm used to having short hair, and I'm kinda digging having longer hair now, and knowing how to keep my darn bangs out of my eyes might help me keep it growing! GINGERS UNITE! :)

Sieeenku for all the information!! The only Begonia I've been keeping alive for years and it's taller than 1m right now, is the one I've kept outdoors!!!! It's a Rex one. And I have three more which are hanging on, I think one of them has something bacterial going on though... I've recently burried my cute, tiny 'listada' (RIP), so I just got another tiny one, a 'soli-mutata'. We'll see how long it'll last... My bulb Begonias on the other hand, wow... They came back from the dead and they are even blooming!! 😻 If I'll ever be able to film and edit videos again, I'll definitely film those. Have a wonderful evening!! 😘
