Nice video, as always. I'm raising my first successful batch of betta fry. The fry are 8 weeks old now. Recently shifted them to a larger tank. When and how will it be possible to differentiate the males and females? Maybe because its winter now, the fry growth seems to be slower than what is shown in your video.

Usually, it’s 10-12 weeks to spot the differences. But days may vary for plakat or halfmoon, as it’s easy to spot males in big fin’s variety. personally, I dont worry about male vs female till they start their nippy behavior to jar them. Betta fry are known to produce a Growth Inhibiting Hormone (GIH) that retards the growth of the other fry. So, your fry with optimal water quality, frequent water changes will help to reduce the amount of GIH that may be released into the grow-out tank. To ensure that your fry’s growth, Proper live food like vinegar eel, infusoria, micro warms, freq 50-80% water changes, live plants, clean the waste to keep ammonia level. Bigger the tank is better. These are primary considerations to grow big.
