I especially loved this because it didn't need a song. Just encapsulating pure talent. Bette's face, those eyes, the pursing lips. She conveys emotion like no one I've seen with just a glance. She looks at you, past you and through you in a millisecond. I love "looking, seeing, watching this same woman over and over and over again".

Bette never worked out her abandonment issues from when her mother left. She ran away from everything that made her happy because she was afraid that it would be snatched away from her. Thus her need to be in control (Amongst other things).
