Extremely useful. So many reviews for action cameras focus so heavily on the footage and will edit music on top of it with the audio cut out. I love that this entire piece is dedicated to the sound. Can't thank you enough.

Hello Sir ! Thank you for your introduction of the dji and it is very educative. Please I just want to ask how do I transfer video from my dji action 2 to my phone without the need of any laptop?
@TechTravelBeyond2 ай бұрын
You can use the DJI Mimo app. It's available in the iPhone App Store, and if you're on Android, download it directly from DJI.

BTW: does the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 have its own speaker? I have the Pocket 1 and hate that it doesn't have a speaker because doing sound checks is so important but not easy when there is no speaker.

Hey Chuck, Great breakdown of the audio, especially since DJI didn't include instructions. I passed on this camera as I have not been a massive fan of the DJI cameras. But I do love the modular design. I had actually hoped that Insta360 would have made a second generation of the ONE R, but I guess it didn't sell well enough. I've been a massive GoPro fan for a while, nothing has lured me away, but the modularity of the Insta360 ONE R came close, but it being completely first gen tech kept me away. If I didn't have 3 GoPros already I probably would have given this more thought.
@TechTravelBeyond3 жыл бұрын
Much like you, I have 3 GoPros (4,6,7 Pro/Black). While they all work, the change in body/batteries accessories and software stopped me from buying later versions. DJI has done the same with audio adapters, etc. The interface and reliability of the Action and Pocket has been better with DJI and I’m hoping there will be more with modular add-ons for the newer Action. Thanks for watching!

@@TechTravelBeyond I've got the 7/8/9 while the change in body and battery is super annoying the boost to performance is nice. and starting with the 7 hypersmooth just kept getting better and better. I am actually thinking of getting the 10, but waiting to see if the Max Lens mod will shoot in 4k before I pull the trigger. I am also excited to see if the DJI launches more modules and what they will do... I hope it's some exciting stuff.

Hi. Great video. Could you do a low light test compared to the pocket 2. In fact an overal test between both would be great.
@TechTravelBeyond3 жыл бұрын
Hey Travel Tips Guy, I might do that! I have a trip after Thanksgiving which would give me a fun opportunity to do footage with low light and both the Pocket 2 and Action 2. Thanks for watching!

I have same camera but there is no mic or sound options while connected to battery module with pro mode on
@TechTravelBeyond Жыл бұрын
That's because the 3 other mics are only on the touchscreen module. There are none on the battery module. Pro mode will help you if you need the extra exposure settings, and if you connect a USB-C compatible mic, you'll have gain control for that mic in the sound panel.

I have an Action 2 with the power module only. My use case has me using just the camera module on a motorcycle, recording on-board videos at the race track. The wind noise is HORRENDOUS and there's no way that I can find to kill it. To be 100 percent clear... I cannot use the screen module with its wind noise canceling mode even if I owned one, which I do not. Any ideas on how to solve this? Ultimately it's no big deal but I'd like to hear the bike without the terrible wind buffeting noise.
@TechTravelBeyond2 жыл бұрын
Here's what most action camera people use on their bikes, and can work for motorcycles: geni.us/GOLPqQE You can stick this on to the DJI's heat absorbing case over the mic hole and trim the muffler enough so it doesn't show in your field of view. It may help, and I know BMX bikers who have filmed with the DJI Action 2 and GoPros have used them in their videos. Another thing you might try is attaching a USB-C lav mic to the power module and putting it inside your helmet, or use a USB-C helmet mic with windscreen. This too will pick up ambient noise of your ride and you can even be heard if you narrate.
@andrewdouglas42112 жыл бұрын
@@TechTravelBeyond Thanks. I did a DIY version of that muff using some fuzzy window weatherstripping but it didn't work. I might give these a try. My use case prevents me from using the power module when I shoot... the whole point of buying this camera in the first place was for the small square form factor.

When you plug in an external mic, there are no other onboard mic options because they are disabled.

Directional sound with the onboard mics is in stereo! It’s implied in the settings, and works well. I also made a short video and plugged in a stereo mic using USB-C and that works too!

How many times maximum when u use 4k 60fps?
@TechTravelBeyond Жыл бұрын
While this video is about audio, I don’t usually film in 60fps because the faster your fps, the more processing is involved for each frame. There are other creators who have timed the film times and battery life at different resolutions and frame rates. Thanks for watching!

why is there no option for back microphone only -_- the audio gets so fcked up when filming anything more close due to the front mic i guess
