MY GOSH! You are so talented! Crowded House is one of my all-time favorite bands and so I'm really picky about the covers I think are good. You did this song so good! Thank you for sharing your talent!

Hello There Julie, As you have stated that you are a big fan of CROWDED HOUSE, And that you are really picky about the covers which you think are good, It would be an absolute dream come true for me, If you would be so kind as to spend a couple of minutes having a listen to my recent ACOUSTIC COVER of this song on my channel, Back in the day when i was at school my drama teacher picked out this song that i never heard before for an improvised play we were touring schools with about BULLYING, The song is played while the girl who is being bullied at school sits in her bedroom and cries her little heart out, The play was called " JUST A PART OF GROWING UP ", Which sadly for lots of people, Is what being a victim of bullying is, Anyway, Sorry to waffle, I would be honoured if you would have a listen, And i will die a happy man if you were to leave me a comment on what you thought, Yours Gratefully : 0 )

Such a sweet great voice. This was a good cover too. But why cut out the great modulation at the end of the bridge leading into the final verse??? There's even a great vocal part low in the mix of the song. Everyone on KZbin does it and you're cutting not only a great part of the song, but the modulation back into the verse key?
@JenMcPherson4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mick, thanks for your comment. I really like that section of the song but it's 8-ish bars of mostly organ solo. There is a vocal at the end but I can't hear what he's saying, it doesn't show up on lyric sheets. I don't think extended solos on the uke are that exciting unless you're finger picking and including a melody, but I was just strumming. I finish the bridge section on chord V, which is the same chord used at the end of each chorus, so it naturally leads back into chord I for the third verse. If I were playing with a band or additional instrument I wouldn't cut it out but I'm happy with this choice for my context. Hope that answers your question
