Quick and very useful tips for all of us. Thanks, Allie, for taking the time to show us how we can make a gift of jewelry without being a designer. Sometimes simple is simply beautiful.

Allie, this is the first time I've seen someone do a loop this way! I always see people cutting the excess wire on the headpin *before* using the round-nose pliers to form a loop, and it has been driving me crazy trying to get a perfect loop, it just doesn't happen and my loops are so often lop-sided! I'm going to try it your way and see if that helps. I was also having trouble bending the headpin 90 degrees above the bead, especially with small beads when there's hardly anything for me to grip or hold on to as I bend the wire. I watched a video last week by Yvonne Williams showing that she gripped the wire with fine-tipped flat-nosed pliers to bend it, and that has helped me a lot, because the wire just bends over so easily. It's at 4:28 in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epPXpnueh96nadk
