Just took off that pedal last week... Thought there was some king of adjustement I could make to lower that pedal...But no.. Unbeleavable that a company like Harley got this terribly wrong..! I have to lift my whole leg every time I have to apply the rear brake.. Thanks for sharing !

I just picked up my 2020 Ultra Limited. I’m 6’1” with a size 15 boot. I really started hating my Harley with less than 100 miles because I had such a hard time applying the rear brake. I was delighted to see your video and just ordered the 1+ Softbrake. Hopefully this will solve my problem. Thanks.

Just pick up a 2015 ultra limited I'm 6'2" size 13 boot the rear break sucks as is I'm so glad I came across your video. Ordering one as soon as I figure out what's going to work best. Lower the lever the better for that natural filling

I installed this on my bike ,all though it was other brand . I found it easier to leave the brake pedal pad on and replace while it's off. Especially putting it back on because the lowers kinda get in the way when you are tighten the bolt back on. And let me add it will be wierd as heck feeling when you go on your test ride and try it out. Seems like I have to push the pedal harder , but once the muscle memory kicks in it good and I like it a lot. Just some heads up stuff. 👍

Thanks for the comment! I agree, it takes a ride to get used to it, but once you are used to it I can't ever imagine going back to the way it was before. This makes it so much better.

@@FocusedGarage I agree 💯 I also bought a extended heel shifter and lowered my toe shifter straight . Now, This is only for someone who likes the heel shifter and uses the heel shifter 100% of the time , which I do. I never use the toe shifter to shift up, only down. And that is a game changer as well.... 💯%

That is more like the brake pad on my 1972 FLH police special. The paddle on my 2002 FLSTC is higher and it is harder for me to use the rear brake at low speeds in the friction zone. I will look into this paddle.

I just blew a great weekend of riding! YOU NEED THE SPACERS. 2021 ultra limited, it is not the fairing lowers, the brake pedal arm hits the floorboard.
@FocusedGarage2 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on the bike.
@ronaldofurlanassis884 Жыл бұрын
Did you install the +1"W or bigger? I would like to buy but I am not sure witch one. I think longer would be better for me. But I am reading the fairing lowers are the problem.

I couldn't make out the part number on the video, what is the part number you got? I have a 2017 Ultra Limited and I like how yours looks.

Good video mate. I'm 6'1" and I get cramps in my calf lifting my leg to get to the brake pedal. Gonna try adjusting the master cylinder screw first but the deal you got looks like the solution.

Good overview. I have a ‘19 FLTRU and wondered if the +1 W was the correct lever to achieve the desired change. You’ve confirmed that to be the case 👍

Great job , ? I wear a 14 shoe size and also have an ultra. Being 6'4 " I was hoping to put the 3" soft break . You mentioned that the 1 " extension was the longest you could use on your ultra. Was that comment accurate. To me it looked like there was enough room to use the 3" soft break. Thanks for sharing. Pete

Hey there! For exact measurement combinations and fitment questions, feel free to check directly with SoftBrake. They are very willing to answer any questions about different combos about what works and what doesn't. The pedal I installed made a huge difference for me!
@ScottGalvanGalvanicMoltenGlass3 жыл бұрын
Just seen that it requires his a spacer UT didn't notice you using one. product requires floorboard bracket spacer kit part number SB FBSK-09. Three wheelers require part number SB FBSK TRI. You can also use any other floor board spacer kit as long as it moves the brackets out
@FocusedGarage3 жыл бұрын
Different length pedals will require the floorboard spacer. This is also dependent on other fitment variables. To know for sure on your application, check with SoftBrake.

@@FocusedGarage just got off the phone with the owner and he just about called me a lier when I told him about you not using a spacer kit. Then I seen several other videos showing the same thing. He freaked out said it was absolutely required. Lol needless to say I didn't order the spacer kit yet. 😅 he's all but hurt I told him if it don't work I'll return it he hung up. What an ass.

so it appears to me that the brake lever is black, then starting at the "neck" of the pedal the color turns from black to "chrome"? am I looking at this correctly? if so, I wouldn't be pleased with that aesthetic, function yes certainly, not crazy about the look - I'll just get the chrome one it this is the case. very well explained video, I just subscribed, looking forward to more of your work! thanks

On the new pedal, the entire thing is black. No chrome whatsoever. Anything forward of @11:47 in the video shows this. Thanks for the comment! I love the change from the new pedal. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnq8pKGuadFrfrs

I installed the soft brake on my 2018 Roadking..I find that there is a good amount of travel before the brake grabs. Any suggestions or solutions to address this issue? I love the product otherwise. Thanks
@FocusedGarage4 жыл бұрын
Make sure the nut that secures the lever to the master cylinder is tight and that the cotter pin is in place. This lever shouldn't bring any new travel that wasn't there before. If all else fails, contact Softbrake directly!

30' shorter is a bold claim, especially from someone demoing it with a soft soled shoe... The product is a great idea, I don't think you need to come up with BS stats. Also, suggesting W-D 40 on plastic/rubber.... come on dude!
