Hi Apologies, the second method I mentioned slipped my mind, as I had a gut feeling I covered it, but essentially it's calibrating your pedal lighter than you would, then going into the sim, like I did and testing is it's good. So lets say you press your pedal (------------------) This hard in the calibration settings of your pedal software Trying pressing it: (-------------) This hard, then in your simulator you should have the desired effect of a brake pedal which has become more sensitive.

Wild I got a set of P1000s last week and happened upon that setting in the calibration and ended up at 60% and was pretty happy at that point. Glad you made a video since many may not have seen or played around with it. Defn trial and error to get the % you feel comfortable with.

So THAT's what that button does lol. Good tip. I'm pretty happy with my mechanical force and pedal travel distance but do lock up at times when I thought I shouldn't be. I'm sure I can muscle-memory that over time but I like having this flexibility. Thanks!

In moza I like to have a mild double S curve for my brakes I have a similar soft for travel from at end spring elastomer setup I then set the first s so when I do light taps to scrub the brakes it doesn't over drive the pedal, and for firm stops I can power down to the resistance bumb. There I have the s curve plateau at 80% before increasing to 100% for emergency locking and acc. It makes it easier to modulate at the sorta 3 critical braking points for my muscle memory

I was literally doing this last night, setting up my brakes for ACE. I had previously done this with/ other titles. What I do is make minor adjustments to the pressure, then do laps until it feels right using my normal muscle memory pressure. I don't adjust to the pedals, I have the pedals adjust to me.

Interesting! It's the same for finding the "best" mouse sensitive for FPS: Rather than *adapting yourself* to the high (or low) mouse sensitivity, it's better to find the sensitivity which correspond to what you want to do. Do some short flicks. Overshoot? lower sensitivity a bit. Undershoot? increase it a bit.

I love my pedals to be super stiff and not much travel. All pressure modulation at 100% settings. My brain just works so much better with pressure rather than position. Everyone is different, no one is going to have all the same equipment and software settings. The big con is i have to wear driving shoes or else my feet hurt so bad.

Verry Nice tip👌. I spot in your loadcell you hit about 30kg. But with my pedals I hit only 3kg 😅. Oke is not the p1000 but the p500. Should you normally hit 100kg in the loadcell? Or work it different?or something wrong with my pedals?

@JACKZERYT
@JACKZERYT 16 күн бұрын
Best of luck, so for myself, I've found it more "responsive", now maybe this is my own style speaking, but in general, it helps me do more "aggressive" trail braking, but obviously higher reward comes with higher risk, but with enough practice you can be predictable enough, lemme know how it goes!

Thanks for the tip. To me the only issue when i make them lighter is trail braking at low%. I mean i release the brake pedal too soon to compensate the initial hard braking and i lose some rotation, im going to give it another try. i have one question, do you like your brake pedal with more or less travel? Thanks again!
@JACKZERYT
@JACKZERYT 11 күн бұрын
Hmmm, I like a little bit of travel, not tiny, I do like it to move a bit!, I used to like a stiff, motionless pedal, but now I love a light, a throwy brake pedal, but not to far, only 2cm ish
@SergejGrabun
@SergejGrabun 17 күн бұрын
You can also adjust this (in a similar way) in car setup by adjusting braking cylinders width. Note: you also need to adjust BB if you change cyl width. aaaand, couple it with brake pad material :) I never played with Force (I leave it to Jedi's), but I just 'short' calibrated pedal travel where 80% is actually 100%.
@Hwy929

Can do similar in iRacing pedal calibration by not pushing the brake as hard.
@jeffreylangerak1960
@jeffreylangerak1960 17 күн бұрын
if you do that it will give you less control since you are not using full potential of the brake sensor you are basicly lowering the resolution.
@Hwy929

That's the point of this video, Not having to leg press 200lbs and using the full potential of the sensor in order to use 100% of the cars brakes.

Do you use any preload on the brake? I'm on a wheelstand and I just can't find the right elastomer set up. The one you use is a bit too hard, and all blacks just don't feel too great Perhaps the spring kit will be better?

Cool advice But I think what we are aming for as simracers is to replicate a real car no ? I get the fact that it must be kind of practical and not to hard but for me it has to be something quite realistic
@JACKZERYT
@JACKZERYT 17 күн бұрын
Good question! So some racers like to replicate the real car, even if it's not the best way to performance, or some simracers realize their rig is *their* car, and they want to try get the best performance out of what is Infront of them. That and the fact real race cars don't actually have super heavy pedals, apart from some outliers, bottom line is, do what ever makes you : 1. Quicker 2. Happier 3. More immersed
@culerone
@culerone 17 күн бұрын

@swider80tv 17 күн бұрын
Making brake pedal "lighter" works under one condition,you have access to a telemetry graph like you have from RaceLab. There was a time I didnt had it and I suffered big time,why? Here is why. I made my brakes lighter,it was way easier to reach 100% of braking. What I didnt know,I was actually braking 130% which none of my overlays showed and when I was trying to do trailbraking,30% of travel of my pedal actually didnt matter because for a sim I was still braking 100%. That first 30% was useless and huge loss of time.
@JACKZERYT
@JACKZERYT 17 күн бұрын
@swider80tv this shouldn't happen as you'll still have the range of your pedal, a quick re-calibration in Iracing can help out in this regard, and the overlay i use is just a fancy version of the onscreen red and green bars that comes with iracing. I hear what your saying though, maybe it's best to keep it so your brakes don't hit 100% that easily.
@swider80tv
@swider80tv 17 күн бұрын
@JACKZERYT I did actually oposite. In most games I had brakes at 70%,that gave me that 100% Mark in most cases (mostly in ACC), but for a titles like iRacing or Le Mans Ultimate,where in many cases ABS is not existing,my brakes are at 90%. That gives me a smaller chance to lock up my tires and still if I will need,I have that 10% of more push if needed,which honestly never happened yet. I was on that "softer" side for a while,I really was,but noticed big gains on that "stiffer" one,and Im on Fanatec CSL loadcells which are very stiff with short travel.
