I had watched something that pointed out that he defended the billboard guy in court. If by some amazing chance that actor ALSO played the guy killed by Mike... I'm guessing that's more just the actor having two jobs. I'm almost 100% positive the billboard guy character would not have ever been in a position to be killed by Mike!

@@SDRube14 i mean, it is definitely the same actor. But as long as it's possible this guy one day "broke bad" and became a hitman, we can choose to believe it is. Either way, this show has some of nicest callbacks and easter eggs, and i just love how subtle and grounded some of them are.

This was one of the few auditions Rhea has been to where they gave them direction & let them play around with the scene, making it more comfortable for actors to be able to step into 2. Rhea is glad her role isn’t just “love interest.” It’s a grey area - is there something there? Is there a history? Or no, are we just reading it that way? No matter what, she’s 3-dimensional 3. Rhea’s agent told her they were going to change her name for the press announcements, and then change it back when it was closer to airing. Rhea was like yeah, sure, whatever! Then started thinking through having to change her OWN name...not realizing she meant the character’s name! 🤣 4. Cold open scene with Jimmy & Marco - the original teaser was the first scene that opens act I (with the Kettlemans), but the episode ended up really short (like 8-9 minutes short) after it was initially edited, so they added it. They’ve found the pace of this show is generally faster than Breaking Bad, owing in part to the fact that Jimmy is just generally faster paced than Walter White. 5. How to make Abq look like Cicero, IL? They had a wide shot, so they added an old painted brick sign that said Cicero Mercantile to help sell it. (Bob is from Naperville, IL, which is why Jimmy’s from that area) 6. There really was a stunt guy who “fell” off & dangled from a billboard (70 ft high) off a highway. They were afraid someone driving past would call 911 7. The original idea was for the billboard to be visible from Howard’s office window. It was stressful to try to make that happen! Then someone had the idea to have it be something that was on his way to work instead, and it became doable. 8. The teaser ended up being a nice bookend with the Chuck scene as it shows us the Jimmy whom Chuck is reacting to 9. The Jimmy & Kim scene was a lot of people on the crew’s favorite. 10. Betsy Kettleman’s name is indeed a nod to Betsy Brandt (Marie fro BB). The key fob is a nod to the one Walt used in Felina, the cadillac is a throwback 11. Bob & Rhea spent a weekend together just driving around New Mexico. Bob was resting his voice so he said he couldn’t speak, so Rhea decide not to, either, but she was nervous having so much love & respect for him etc...but it ended up being an amazing thing that they had to just individually sit in their feelings and they ended up getting past that relational weirdness to a cool place of very real comfort spending time in each other’s space so that their scene was totally natural. (They both journal, so at one point, they stopped at a restaurant and both drew and wrote in their journals together in silence)

Jimmy won't be sued for it. That scene where Jimmy was told to take the billboard down was a injunction. Basically the court demanded that Jimmy take down the billboard, but if he complies no further legal measures will be taken.

I love remeber thinking like you do about Saul Goodman.......but you are slowly starting to see the man behind it. Slippin Jimmy / Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman / Gene (the Cinnabon manager in Omaha) are ALL connected and show aspects of this character. This show is MUCH more character driven than Breaking Bad (which is saying something). If you are enjoying these episodes then you are in for a treat. Trust me, the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul writers are some of the best storytellers and cinematographers in history. Keep up the good work on your reactions and can't wait till you get up to 2 episodes a week.

I don’t want to say Better Call Saul is better than breaking bad but I will say it was refreshing to kind of route for the main character and not feel terrible about it. By the end of breaking bad I wanted Walter to die but with Better Call Saul I truly want the best for him and I want to see him succeed. It was very refreshing after the finale of breaking bad.

"Aren't you supposed to know how to get back up if that ever happens?" In real life there would be a team of 2+ to change a billboard. The thing about a fall harnesses is that it's incredibly difficult (near impossible) to pull yourself back up with a tether as long as his unless you have insane upper body strength, since you cant anchor your legs to the rope to help lift your weight. Someone else needs to be there to pull you back up usually. If you hang for more than 5 minutes the blood will actually start pooling in your legs and drop your blood pressure so low you pass out. Even after rescue there is still risk of death from sudden increase in blood pressure once the harness is removed.
