How good was Severiano Ballesteros? The quintessential human being, and arguably, one of the best golfers that ever lived. The man just had it all. The older I get, the more impressed I am with Nick Faldo’s game, a game that he developed into greatness. Seve came out of the womb great!

When golf was real before technology took over. 5 irons to par 3s, you could as a golfer understand what these guys were doing. As a club golfer at the time i saw all of these guys ay Wentworth. The difference was their consistency. I saw Seve many times, his short game was amazing. Thank you for the upload.

No Paul. The cough was a nervous cough, he didn’t even know he was doing it. I followed Seve closely enough to see that. His caddies confirm it. Rattling coins in his pocket? He never carried coins in his pocket while playing golf! He played in his own world. It got mistaken for gamesmanship, especially by the yanks who were looking for excuses.

@@stevenchampion8137 The R&A and USGA have a lot to answer for by not limiting the performance of golf balls, how many £/$ millions have been spent on 'upgrading' fine old courses as well as the environmental disasters of modern courses with their immense length and proportionally higher irrigation requirements. By stipulating a maximum driving distance of 280 yards with balata spin characteristics the problems of redesigning courses would have been avoided.

Followed him 2 days here in Australia in the hot summer that same year (88) after he won Masters. He hit it further than Norman. One of the best long iron hitters too. As a Scotsman he was getting smashed by the Aussie heat and humidity. As he was walking off a tee his eyes happen to catch mine and he said ‘you look even hotter than me’ and he walked over and grabbed a bottle of icy water from the nearby players’ esky and gave it to me a teenage nobody. Never forgotten that. I kept the bottle because a Masters Champion had touched it!
