This takes me back to real golf, persimmon woods, balata ball, steel shaft and Watson, Palmer, Player and Nicklaus, along with Trevino, Miller, Ballesteros, and others really made the game fun to watch Jack was runner up in 19 majors and won 18, an incredible record! Palmer the reason the prize money is where it is today!

We at Ima Sportsphile have been waiting for a very long time....since the glory days of Palmer, Nicklaus, Player, Watson, Trevino, Ballesteros, Floyd, Norman, Strange and Stewart....for a period in golf that could even rival the days when these guys were gracing the PGA....for the era of Woods and Michelson certainly did not compare....but, maybe just maybe....we may be entering a new era of Johnson, Speith, Thomas, Day, McElroy, Stenson, Matsuyami, Rahm, Fowler, Koepka and Berger that just might bring us what we've been waiting on for all these many years.

Beautiful footwork. I love the raising of the left foot to promote a weight transfer. And at 1:36:27 18th hole playing to win $240,000(equals about $500,000 these days) and nailing the putt. There are very good reasons why the Golden Bear became a legend of golf and the all-time greatest. He could drive for show and putt for dough. He could knock flag sticks down with irons. Only weakness was around the greens with chipping and pitching. But that was because he spent most of his time landing on the green. Jack did not spend a lot time having to pitch and chip.

This is 1984 and Watson didnt win another PGA event until 1996 or 12 years. He admitted he had a drinking problem. He won the 1987 TOUR Championship under a special exemption, but they would not let him come back the following year to defend. I really believe losing a chance to win The Open at St Andrews earlier that year to Seve really wrecked him. Tom basically told that story to David Feherty years later.
