Seve inspired me as a young boy to take up the sport (best sport in the world) and very fortunately I had the pleasure once to meet this beautiful human in 1985 at St piere golf club in Wales UK , still remember it as if it was yesterday, he will never be forgotten a true iconic legend ❤️🙏🏻

Wonderful story. It's bad enough playing that totally Impossible shot from behind the wall but then to have the cheek to chip in for birdie. Seve was charisma encapsulated and we will never see his like again. "The good die young, the rest go to America."

Legend. Miss him loads. I was a couple of yards away from him at Wentworth when he was in the trees (far too many times) and he cracked a joke. He had a palpable aura about him that made him appear to be above normal human level. Him and Olly in the Ryder Cup, well, brought it alive for Europe. Great times.

The most entertaining and exciting player the game has ever seen.I would watch him on the box and Identify with him,he play some bad shots just like myself,in my case many bad shots, and he would then play the magical recovery shots on most occasions,I;d do it on rare occasions,Gary Player called him a scrambler,and I for one am quite happy that one of the greatest players the world has seen would place SEVE with the rest of us, scramblers

What he's saying is true., I followed him once at the Westchester Classic many years ago and his tee shot ended up on one hole under trees, a hundred yards short of the green with a pin tucked right over the bunker, which lay between Seve and the pin. He looked at the pin then hit a low shot under the tree branches which rose slightly as it passed over the bunker, stopping near the hole on the short side of the green. I think he made these kinds of shots all the time. He went on to win the tournament.
@williamtaylor5193 Жыл бұрын
Great story. I followed him at Winged Foot in '84 and he drove it way left into the deep hay. I was part of the mini-gallery that then watched him hit an 8-iron out of this horrendous lie, over a nearby 100 foot tree onto the green. No way in a million years I could cover that. He was something special.

My dad and Seve were neighbours in Pedreña. The guy had magic in his hands. But he trained hours, and hours, and hours. 24/7 thinking in golf. Night and day, playing on the beach, in his house, in other's houses...😝 Obssesed with golf. He trained so hard that he hurt his back. Badly. And that's the reason for his decline before his 40 years old. With good health, his numbers would've been unreachable.
