Well, now that you do know a little about who he is hopefully the monkey stuff won't throw you off. Knowing it's how he perceives himself, not that it's an actual monkey everyone is interacting with, will likely help!

That song was SO in my mind after seeing the movie that I couldn't bear to not acknowledge it in some way when I prepped to do the review. My brother gets on my case that I sometimes do this in my videos while in real life I flat-out REFUSE to join him in karaoke. He can't understand the difference here. WELL I CAN!! 😆

The girl has some pipes 🎵 I’m glad you had a great time this one, Cyn! You enjoyed it more than me but I saw today that it’s flopped at the box office, made around $1 million on a $100 million+ budget

Yeah, it isn't doing so well here. It fared better in the rest of the world. But not by a ton. It was definitely a huge budget - likely because of the cgi/motion capture.

I love that song. It's the only Robbie Williams song I ever actually knew or paid attention to (until this movie).

I've been wanting to see this one since hearing everything loving it. I'm not a big Robbie WIlliams fan, but I have been hearing such good things. "Fame looks good in a photo" - interesting. I've always felt that to be famous must be one of the most awful things. I'd absolutely hate everything about it. There are so many things I need to check out right now. This one and Wolf Man being the main ones on my radar.

I'm not the hugest fan either, but I'm glad I knew who he was going in, even though I don't think one has to even know who he is to enjoy this. I'm planning to see it again on Monday. I loved it so much I bought the soundtrack. Curious to know what you think of Wolf Man when you see it. That one's been getting very mixed reviews.

It's crazy to me that Americans don't really know who he is...I'm not a fan but growing up in Europe you couldn't not know who he is. Angels is that annoying karaoke song everyone sings

I never would have known who he is if it weren't for Advertising Space (which I love). Unfortunately, some Americans think that if an entertainer isn't popular here, it means they're just not popular at all. I've seen this happen with my favorite group of all time - A-ha. A lot of folks here have forgotten about them and think they were only known for THAT ONE song. *sigh*

I don't think there's any need to know Robbie to enjoy this movie - I didn't know him & I loved every minute of it! I found the musical numbers to be spectacular! There are so many haters out there bashing this film who clearly haven't even seen it. I'm betting rhat many of them will watch it secretly when it streams & learn they're wrong, but of course won't admit it. Since then I've discovered hundreds of vids of his on YT & a fascinating Netflix docu-series. He's an amazing performer & a lovely gentleman at 50.

I agree - but I also know that some folks, because they have zero clue about the man, will likely be a little off-put by the whole monkey thing, and might not even realize it's based on a real person. I'm so glad he found peace in his life.

Seen this trailer before I like this type of biopic something different and I don’t listen to Robbie music but I heard of him everyone thinks he funny actor

It's definitely something different. I was very impressed. I don't really listen to his music either, but I have always loved that song of his at the beginning.
