Theirs a reason he was Alice Coopers bass player at one point! Alice’s comeback albums constrictor and raise your fist both feature Kip on bass. Constrictor brought Alice back to the masses after his previous two albums were pretty much failures.

While this band is thought of as a "side show" because of how they were promoted, and also cashing in off every woman alive being in love with Kip........Boy were they freaking tight. Their actual ability as musicians was dramatically overlooked. All of them were studio level musicians.

Reb is amazing on guitar, but Kip holds down the bass groove effortlessly as he belts out killer vocals! On top of that Paul doubles on guitar and keyboards masterfully while Rod kicks the drums into oblivion! This band deserved way more popularity than they wound up with. Just amazing guys!

Steve Vai is a huge Reb Beach fan and personally sent him a 7 string Ibanez as 'a gift from a fan' sort of gesture. There's videos of Reb at a clinic in the early 1990s (I believe it was the early 1990s not 100% sure on that!) playing it. Enough said there really.

One of MTV's best live performances ever. This is a tough, tough tune to play and they killed that night. I've got Winger on two of my top 10 live performances of the 1980's. What can I say? They are professionals who can rip a tune live as close to studio as any group I've heard from that era.

Incredible guitar player I seen Winger play live in May of 2002.At the House Of Blues, That guy can play. Paul Taylor was great on Keyboards also that drummer was a heavy hitter Rod Morganstien and Kip could play great and sound amazing singing. This video 12/31/88 is when they are in their prime. My favorite band I've ever seen live. And I was Seventeen when I seen them now I'm a 36 year old. Time flys.

I saw Rod doing a drum clinic at a Guitar Center in probably 1995. Yes, really phenomenal drummer. Got to meet him afterward (really nice guy, too) and he signed my copy of the Winger CD, Pull.

Reb Beach is one hell of a guitarist! The first time I heard this song I'm like, "who the hell is that guy"? I knew I would be hearing more from him. He's fast, accurate, plays clean, and has a truck load of passion. If you have a band and you need a guitar player, Reb Beach is who you want!

@@stevekrupey3611 I agree but that's also a choice made by the following generations after, I'm a guitar player myself and was 18 year's old when Eddie Van Halen came out with eruption, I don't remember anyone complaining that someone took the initiative to do with a guitar what he did, well maybe with exception of a few jealous guitarist but it was a mindset the generation I grew up in had and that basically ment you needed to develop some talent and that's what you see there in that video it mattered back then I can guarantee you that.

Saw these guys live 3 times. By far the tightest band I've ever seen. Saw them on a tour with slaughter and kiss. Their sound and tightness blew them both away. They stole the show. Being in bands for many years I can tell you their stuff has a lot of offbeats and stops that makes them tricky to cover. This band is full of talent

When I was in high school I listened to thrash metal. My friends and I used to make fun of Winger for being “posers.” How short sighted we were. Such a tight band then and still today. Their live performances are incredible. They sound so close to how the recording sounds and that is so damn hard to do.

Think what you will about these lyrics, but these guys chops are not in question. They are all top 1% guys within their crafts. Reb is beyond monstrous, perhaps unparalleled in his technical tools. Kip is a generational live singer. Hitting that note blind after coming in after the live pause is absolutely insane. You do see singers just casually pulling that off. This era was characterized by a lot of studio creations and live performances featuring partial tracks. None of that here. Simply masterful!

WINGER and the 80's saying "hold my beer" with a middle finger in the air! Winger was and still is one of the hardest hitting bands out there. Kip Winger is a major contributor of EXELLENT tunes to our genre and is still out there touring with these same PRO bandmates in 2022. I saw them first in 1990 and last in March, 2022. BOTH WERE LIKE THIS NIGHT IN 1989,,BEAST MODE PERFORMANCES!

I have to admit, I fucking hate Reb Beach, lol (ok, not really). I pick up my guitar, look at my hands, and say "why can't you do THAT?" He makes a really tough song look so easy. The rhythm is beautiful, but a lot more complex than you'd think.. And the solo?...forget it. I had the great privilege of seeing Winger on the "Pull" tour at Dallas City limits...93 maybe? One of the tightest bands I've ever seen live (and I've seen a lot of great bands).

Got to see these guys live in the 80s. It was Slaughter, Winger and KISS. While doing his guitar solo, he broke strings on the Guitar. Never missing a note, he swapped out guitars on stage while still playing. Reb Beach is a Beast on Guitar! Concert was in Albany, Ga.

He should have seen RUSH live.......I admit though Reb Beach is spectacular. The Beatles were probably the best at live sound quality, being able to lay down a whole album in one day instead of one to six months like most bands. To this day it's still unheard of. .

I remember when they hit the scene. So many people wrote them off as another glam rock, “cram another gorgeous , namesake,rock god down your throat” at a time when everyone was getting sick of it…. But for some reason no one could get their hits out of their head….. True songwriters, performers, and rock gods - just too late to the party. I sincerely hope they’ve at least gotten tons of money, and tons of fun and satisfaction from contributing to the world of rock music!
