A great lesson on using the iPhone 15 Pro Max, BMC app, and your cage which I got and love. Some really good tips for using it to its maximum potential. The quick release handles on the cage are the cat's meow after all those screw-on ones I use to cuss. Your work is magical.

Great video! Looking forward to shoot my 5th feature film on the iPhone 15 Pro. My first project, "Loving Till It Hurts" on tubi was shot on Lumix GH4 and my 2nd and third was shot on Red Helium and Red Komodo. Being a fan of Lumix Cameras, I just saw the GH7 reviews I'm looking forward to shoot on it as well.

Brandon!!! Got your cage from smallrig and love it!!! Just two things if you can get smallrig to make: a small flat clamp that can snap to the back of the phone cage to hold the ssd flat (and still have a 1/4" hole), and an actual angled usb-c that does 40gbps that fits the bottom (smallrig makes one for your cage but doesn't transfer 40gbps). This would make the cage perfect esp when using a gimbal. Tried looking on Etsy to find a 3d printed one but no avail. Love the entire setup tho and the colorway. Thanks Brandon!!!!!

I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max and use the Blackmagic Camera app with all the specifications I've seen in this tutorial and others. However, my videos always have grain, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I understand it might be due to low light in the places I'm recording, but almost all the material has grain. Can you help me improve this? Thank you in advance

@Ben-fq1lj2 ай бұрын
Question, how does this compare to a gimbal in terms of movement forward without slow motion?
@BrandonLiUnscripted2 ай бұрын
It doesn’t stabilize mechanically, so it’s not really comparable. Just allows you to get a better grip while holding the phone.

Enable histogram, preserve highlights
@iamakkkshayАй бұрын
1:46 Problem is that with manual exposure settings in Apple LOG you lower your white clipping point to 65 IRE (till ISO1250). That vertical line on the right side of the histogram which you were showing would have appeared at 97IRE clipping point if you used Auto exposure in locked mode, that makes use of the entire apple LOG white clipping range. Hope Apple fixes this bug as most professionals don't shoot in Auto Exposure mode with stock camera app.
@iamakkkshayАй бұрын
one more proof is that at 1:49 even if the highlights are blown yet there is no clipping indications in the RGB pixel clipping lights bar on the right of the histogram as that is meant to blink when you hit 97IRE or anything above 80IRE if you move your zebras to appear at 80IRE in BM app
