When connecting the mic to the transmitter it is best to rotate the transmitter NOT THE MIC. This will reduce the possibility of work-hardening the copper strands in the mic cable that will inevitably lead to an internal break in the wire and a subsequent microphone failure.

@@GabrielVIP So I'm running a very simple system: my iPhone and my Rode Wireless Pro to record brewery tours. Do you have any videos on how to increase the recording volume when only using an iPhone? I appreciate everything you shared if using a camera, but some of that doesn't necessarily apply with the iPhone set up... Thanks for all you've shared though... I already have learned a lot that simply wasn't explained in any of the online manuals!

Thanks for this video Gabriel, well done! I was a victim of the locking collar issue you mentioned. I have other lav mics with a locking collar and they cannot be removed. I had expected the same behavior from the Rode mics. I had no idea that the collar is actually threaded on to the Rode connector and can be removed. As a result the first time I used the lav mic on one of my transmitters the connector did not seat properly. Because my receiver was set to MERGE the transmitters, I quickly looked and saw audio on both left and right channels and did not pay close enough attention to the fact that one of the transmitters was not actually sending audio. As a result I had NO AUDIO at all from one of the transmitters. This collar design is unusual. This not a mistake I will make again. You have some great tips in here, thanks again for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us! By the way I also agree with you request to be able to add a prefix to the file name. I don't like that both transmitters have the same exact file names.

To make sure I know which files are from which transmitter, I’ll do the export feature to two different folders. My TX1 would go to the folder named “left” and my TX2 would go to the folder named “right.” This is probably the best workaround I can do. But for all you pros out there - what do you recommend? Rode needs to make a 32-bit field recorder similar to and better than the Tascam Portacapture X8. That would be truly AWESOME!

I also wish that RODE update the Pro firmware where all recorded data be automatically grouped inside a folder according to their dates and time of recording in order to have a better organization of audio data just as in Zoom audio recorders. I don't have the wireless pro but I always enjoy your tutorials anyway! Here's a question: I have the DJI Mic system, is this worth the change to it if I sell the DJI? I don't use them a ton but they're handy when I do need a wireless mic. Also, second question: when wearing the transmitter on my collar or shirt, every time I move or turn, you can hear the rustling of the shirt etc...its very annoying as it ruins the audio and takes lots of editing time to remove all those sounds...it makes using these a pain. What do you suggest for that?
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP Жыл бұрын
Hey bro. Thank you for your comment. If you need 32 bit float yes! If you don’t need that, it’s too much effort to sel and buy another one. The difference in quality is there but not that big. Also, change if you use often the lav mic because this has that locking system. DJI doesn’t have that. For the second question…try to use shirts not T-shorts. Lav mics will stay better in a shirt but if you move too much, those annoying sound will still be there. Thank you :)

I’m trying to get the best sound on a stage about 150 feet away (i generally do small theater jobs) from a Sony a7s DSLR. Can’t figure out if the quality of the sound would be better just throwing one of these little wireless transmitters on the stage floor or putting the videomic + shotgun on the dlsr…or 3rd option which is using both by connecting the shotgun to wireless pro near theater speakers. Thanks by the way.
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP 11 ай бұрын
Hey! I don't think is the right choice for what you want to do. 150 feet can be a little bit too far. And for a stage, I always prefer to record from the main mixer with a professional recorder like a zoom f3. It's hard to catch good sound from the speakers.

Hey! 1. It's impossible for me to say if you will get interferences in a room full of people. You need to test it. Most of the time, if the distance between the transmitter and receiver is not big, it should be ok, but I can't be sure. The best thing to do is to test it. 2. You can plug you 3.5mm jack directly in to the sound amplifier if your sound amplifier has a 3.5mm input. You need to check. It really depends on your sound amplifier.

Let’s say I have an internal recording that has very loud levels and very quiet levels, can I normalize them and level them off in the rode desktop app?

Hello Gabriel, Great video and excellent information. I also use my transmiter as a wireless boom mic , however I use it with the interview handle directly on my boompole, therefore cutting out the extra mike and the cheese bar altogether.

Hello, how can I connect the A7SIII with the two TX AND a headset microphone? The USB-C port does not accept a microphone signal. Thank you and best regards
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP 10 ай бұрын
Hey. I think you need a mixer or to record in a recorder. I didn’t check that but you need somehow a device that has more than one input like your camera. I will check and If I find something I will come back.

@@GabrielVIP Maybe it would work with a USB-C (Rode) to TRS (A7SIII) adapter?

@SYHTvideo I don’t think that. On camera you need 3.5mm jack and I don’t think you can convert it from usb C.

I shoot with a Canon C500 mark II which has XLR inputs. Why can I not find a single video to go over the use of either Rode's XLR adapter or, preferably, a dedicated third party cable with a mini RTS plug on one end (to go into the Rode receiver) and a male XLR to go into the camera? All I see is videos showing audio going into mini jack on a DSLR style cameras.
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP 10 ай бұрын
Hey! Maybe those who has XLR inputs on the camera use something more advanced with direct XLR. I don’t know but you can find an adaptor also from Rode to Jack. just search XLR to Jack Rode adaptor and you will find it :) Thank you!

Hi Gabriel, I'm a new KZbinr, and your video tips on using the Rode Wireless Go Pro were incredibly helpful, especially regarding connecting the new Lav mic. When I start creating my videos, I'll definitely give your channel a shout-out. I also noticed in the beginning of your video that your receivers and transmitter were different colors. How can I achieve the same setup?
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP Жыл бұрын
Hey bro! Thank you and I am happy to help :). At the beginning, that coloured light was made in the video editing software. The receiver and the transmitters doesn't have colours. Thank you and good luck with your content :)

Hey! No! I don't see that option. But why? When the transmitters or receiver is full, the case will stop charging them. I don't think there is a problem with that :) Thank you!
