Thanks Aiden, ordered mine a short time ago this evening. Can't wait!

Thanks fully exploring the gain settings. I don't think other reviews have done that. I think it is worth highlighting the stereo feature. People keep comparing this device with the similar Lark device, but that is only mono which for me is a dealbreaker.

Yeah...I am blissfully ignorant of a LOT of other options in this section of the industry. I think I will start gathering more of these and doing more comparisons. Seems like people are VERY passionate about the ones they like... Interesting

A neat little unit coming from Rode. I'd be curious to see how the sound compares against the Hollyland Lark M2 Duo, which seems to offer similar features and whose combo pack (including 2 transmitters, a TRS camera receiver, USB-C receiver, AND Lightning receiver) is currently coming in at around the ~$200 CAD price point.

I had some dialogue with Hollyland...but it got a bit weird and I backed out... I think I have more wireless stuff coming in the future though

I'd say these were made in direct competition with the Shure MoveMic whose accompanying app, unlike Rode's, is accessible.

Why isn't Rode's accessible?

Also...just checked out the pricing difference. I'd say this is nowhere near competing with the MoveMic

@@DarkCornerStudios probably doesn't have keyboard short cuts etc. which means if you have no mouse or suffer from RSI, you can't use the app. Blind people can't use it either :(

How is the sound quality compared to the Hollyland Mark 2? I have used the Mark 2 and the sound in that one is certainly crisp, clear with little bass which sounds amazing in a studio or indoor recording! Also Rode is selling these units separately, which means if we want to use these for older iphone or other phones like samsung, we need to purchase separate units and this is where Hollyland wins BIG! And this is a serious concern for creators. Having said that, I am a fan of Rode and did not like the plastic yellow buttons on the Hollyland M2.

Sounds a little boxy indoors, but it's a great middle ground between phone mics and more expensive setups. Would you see the use case here more for baked in audio? Just a shoot and go sort of approach

Well, at this pricepoint I am not too much excited to grab one. At this pricepoint it competes with products which offer way more versatility, onboard recording, jack for external mics, etc and are this small or even a bit smaller. The sound quality is probably better, but you are saying it is compressed and auto gained. I can see a huge market for this kit, but it doesn't seem to be the system I personally would rush out to buy. Maybe second hand at half the price yes, but not at 170 euros for sure.

Nice set at about half price of the pro where I live. Im not sure whether I would go for that set myself - the pro’s are still tempting…

Definitely more slick then the pro. Can't wait to see alternate minion colors come out. How does it sound if you put it inside your shirt? I know that defeats the purpose of the slick design, but just for the info. Thanks.
