There is no comparison to a Fendt. I owned a Fendt 201 (45HP) back in Switzerland in the eighties and never forgot how good it was. Then, after immigration to Canada, I had to stick with another green product, till I purchased a Fendt 828 in 2014. Great machine, through an through. It replaced a JD 8850 and does the same work with half the fuel. I can't understand how any farmer could stick to JD any longer. The Fendt has standard features not even available on a JD. Now, with the new president in the USA, I assume there will be a 200% tariff on Fendt and any John Deere built in Mannheim/Germany. If the European union retaliates, John Deere will not be able to sell any large tractors to the European Union. John Deere may get something like a monopoly producing tractors to the US market and please be aware what that may mean to US-farmers. MS

All those electronic devices are good till the tractor gets hit by lightning sitting in the field. Worked on a JD 4755 that got hit one weekend and it took 2 days and several electronics being replaced before it could leave the field. I have worked on red,blue, and green over the years and JD always had quicker parts availability. Some of the others ordered one day a week and if you called the day after you had to wait another week to order. Another issue I have seen with Agco is trying to find parts diagrams for older MF tractors. I can look up JD ,NH , and Kubota parts, select a dealer and get prices. The biggest issue with the gold star program with Fendt. They put having spare tractors on the dealer. They dont supply them. They make the dealer buy enough of them to self support a certain percentage of the machines they have sold in the last 5 years. Start stackimg up new machines that can't be sold untill after the machine is 5 years out of production its its a hige added cost to the dealer. The are also over enginered in my honest opinion. While ts a cruse control issue the customer support ended up having me test through 3-4 different computers to find the issue. I ended up replacing two of them to grt cruise back for my customer. Needles to say that was an expensive repair for them even after we wrote off a lot of labor.

Fendt tractors were always a cut above the rest. I saw three Fendt GT tool carriers hard at work one day as I was driving by Coolmoore Stud. These machines had their engines, Deutz air-cooled units, mounted on their sides along with the transmission underneath the cabs. The various tools were fitted to a steel backbone that extended forward of the cab and also had a forward facing three point linkage. The normal tractor models were driven by MWM engines, famous for their reliability and frugality. The bigger tractors were fitted with the Turbomatik, liquid clutch, which allowed the tractor to brake to a stop while remaining in gear. Today, as far as I know, most tractors in the AGCO group are propelled by Sisu engines built in Finland.

New dealers, not many dealers, and slim parts available on the shelf, translates to big problems. All I'm saying is if you can't support the tractor, whether it's better or not, it might not be worth it. And then there won't be a big aftermarket parts availability because its a new machine on the market. One has to consider, do I save money up front and it costs me more money down the road, is it worth it? Name brand machines might not be the best out there, but they will always be there. @@gerhardma4297 First off, I have no bias. I don't own a tractor, and never have. I worked for a Bobcat dealer for 15 years. I have sold a LOT of equipment over the years, so my comments are based on my experience with ALL brands of equipment. You do what you want, but be advised that some of these companies may prove to be just great. BUT, some of these companies will just disappear, or be bought out by other companies, and then you kind of get yourself in a position you don't want to be in. Not everybody can work on their own tractors or know where to source parts for repairs. Some don't have the time to do that stuff, and others don't want to work on the stuff and prefer their dealer to take care of it. The point of the matter is. it's not just that this Fendt out specs and out performs other brands of tractors, it' how is this going to be for me in the long run? And yes, it might be cheaper up front, but remember it's going to be worth less at trade in time too. Do the math, and figure out what's the best move for your operation.

The New Holland T5.130/140 Auto Command has front suspension, front 3pt, telematics, and a dealer managed planned maintenance package that include all the services, and extended warranty out to 5 years as well. Plus has the option for BDA (break down assistance) which can include paid overnight for parts or a loaner. And you can get it in the Blue Power Special edition with leather seat!

Lots of those special options mentioned are quite standard options over here in Europe. And btw, the loader is not made by Fendt. It's made by the German loader specialist Stoll.
@misterx2439 ай бұрын
No tractor in that category with these options? John Deere 6m series, Case IH Vestrum, NH t5 auto command, Valtra G series in europe all have same options as them. Fendt can be better build quality but still not that big of a difference. Probably weird American specs or 'we don't sell those in USA' corporate BS

To return to the farm to see Fendt had replaced it permeability.. such a shock when a farm turns a different shade of green.. The ones i used were 160hp turbo-matic clutch models.. never sny issues. I live in rural vt, jd started here according to what the locals tell me, so there is big brand loyalty, despite jd hating farmers and fighting right to repair laws so hard. Anyway, all the hobby farmers have these little mahindra size 4x4 jd tractors, and i was jealous, i mean, if a tractor is a mechanical mule, then i coveted my neighbors ass. But i didnt have $10k for a used one. Then my neighbor tried to drop some manure off into my garden, across like a 15° side slope and almost flipped it. I remembered that the old ww2 jeeps could do a 45° side slope, and you can get parts to run ptos and hydraulics just like a real tractor. Ive got $1000 in mine, and essentially have a $10k 4x4 tractor, and a $10k side by side, but with better ground clearance than a modern sxs, and its street legal, and wvery part will be made for it my whole life, ill never be unable to get a part cause the company stopped supporting an old model. Ive got a pto winch for skidding logs, a hydraulic setup for running a snow plow blade, pto in the rear for running a brush hog, Now granted, i grew up on the west coast, and you could not buy a flat fender jeep for $500 like you can in new england, and i did spend a week or two welding pieces of washing machine into all the massive rust holes in the body, cause it was a plow jeep. But as a disabled person with M.S., ive got more time than money. Before i get too decrepit ill make some fork adapters so i can put anything heavy on pallets and not hurt myself moving heavy junk by hand. And i saved $19000

Fendt's are good high quality machines, but with a price tag. I don't know about the CVT but in Europe you see not very often a used machine under 8000hours for sale, the onwers like to keep their tractors, that speaks for the tractor. Same for Valtra. 13000 hours or even up to 22000 hours are very common on those things.

IDK, Fendt is a good tractor and all the pros and cons mean nothing till 20yrs go by. I'm no expert but have a 60 yr old Case diesel that starts on a crank even after sitting outside and not running for years, still works great. Opened the gearbox-no lie, completely new looking even the red cast paint used to seal the pores.

As an Australian I believe the Fendt is a great tractor, but I also know that German industry is on the back foot since Biden destroyed Nord Stream. If Fendt is a company that is badly affected by the loss of pipeline oil, then it might not be able to provide parts, when required. I would buy New Holland, which is a great Italian tractor.

i have a few questions one is this type of tractor more capable then n skid steer in turms of loader work like moving hard pack snow / dirt / stone? and how does it do with like down presser ik skid steers are kinda met to have down persser but a tractor of this size must have some strath / so i guess im asking if space or size didn't matter would this tractor out work a skid steer just with a bucket ? in ur op ofc .
@jonniessink18 ай бұрын
No this won't replace a skid steer for a couple of reasons. 1. This particular tractor is roughly double the size of a normal skid steer. So maneuverbity is a lot less then a skid steer. 2. The loader arms a to weak for serious dirt work. Will it do the work... yes but not as efficiently as a dedicated loader. It's more used for lighter material like hay bales, grains, cow feed, etc. So about 4,000 to 6,000lbs of lift capacity, where a normal loader can do about 8,000 to 10,000lbs of lift capacity in the the same weight class. This tractor is like a multi tool. It can do a little bit of everything.
