I’ve had an LSL ‘63 Custom Tele w/Med relic’ing for almost 4 yrs. It’s a 2015 that I bought used. I love the feel of the neck which is a nice full ‘C’ with beautifully rolled edges. I thought it was alder but the body is pine and it’s a comfortable weight at about 7.5 lbs. All told, it’s a great guitar and comes without a serial #, only a name, “ Carmen”.

Yeeeeeeah Shane on an LSL! Whenever I've gotten my hands on one of these I've loved them, you're sounding great on it, bro.

That guitar's sound matched your playing style perfectly Shane. I really liked the neck pickup with clean and bridge with dirt. They're really well balanced pickups.

I really do like that all rosewood neck. I've been wanting one, but every time one has become available, I've been financially challenged (usually because I found another guitar I just "had to have" and was clueless a guitar with an all rosewood neck was about to be released). Maybe next time?!?!?!I love the cleans. Thanks again to you and Jerry's Lefty Guitars for another great demo and review!! Please keep them coming!!

Hey Shane... Jimbo here from The Great state of Washington. I see You're at Lefty's in Sarasota. I lived in The Clearwater area from 2003-2016 and did a lot of work for bothe The Cities of Sarasota & Longboat Key....awesome beaches & fishing! Nice to see You back jamming,' on KZbin, again. This tele sounds great, nice & chimney...and that Rosesood neck. Ciao Mate

LSLs are great. Bought one of their Strats from Jerrys a couple of years ago. It sounds and plays awesome. It's more of a regular C with roasted maple neck, one piece. I would buy another, great value for a top-level guitar. I agree that their own pickups leave nothing to be desired, at least on mine (and, per the sound, that demo guitar). Mine is the same color, but not Relic'd.

I like LSL and play lefty too. Had to sell my only high end guitar, a Suhr, to pay the IRS this year. If I get a chance again I’d be looking at LSL or K-line as a replacement high end strat or tele.
@garycoates4987 Жыл бұрын
Just this morning I ordered a second hand LSL left handed strat,, I'm right handed and going to flip the strings Jimi style, because the price was just too good , I've wanted one for a long time and besides an upside down strat looks cool. The amount of care and details they build into their guitars is pretty awesome, I've played a bunch of boutique guitars over the years but the cash flow and price usually aren't lined up lol so in a few days I'll have my lefty in hand and setup righty and be wailing away.

If you’re thinking about buying an LSL Instrument, just do it. I’ve had Fender and Gibson custom shops for years, and the best guitar I’ve ever played or owned is the Heavy Relic Topanga I bought from LSL. Weighs 6 pounds exactly. I played my friend’s 1960 Gibson LP Special, which had the exact same specs as my LSL. The 1960 Gibson played like a dead piece of Plywood compared to my LSL and weighed about 2 and a half pounds more than my Topanga. My friend that owns the 1960 special tried to buy my Topanga right there on the spot, but it’s never leaving!🤘🏼🤘🏼

Hey Shane. Great video and playing. Love seeing these guitars down under. These seem to get the basics right such as weight and hand feel. Will the HB produce jazzy tones. ? Comparison with a tele custom shop be awesome love the channel cheers

I like it, though the pickguard looks over-relic'd compared to the rest of the guitar. Beautiful neck and killer sound though.

I am not into relicking (spelling?) but I do love the colour and neck. I have never owned a T-style guitar and wonder sometimes what pickup configuration I would go for if I bought one. Purists would say it has to be s/s. But if you can get close to tele tones with 1 or 2 suitably wound humbuckers then why not? Thanks Shane. PS: Great playing mate! Did you have a few standing around in the shop listening? What a treat!

@lazvt84692 жыл бұрын
Great tone. At least Fender has earned their reputation . Not sure I’d drop that kind of money for a boutique guitar, unless I won the lottery and money was no object.
@stringlocker2 жыл бұрын
I agree. It would be hard or impossible for me to pay $4,000 for a guitar that was put together with wood screws. Having said that I've played fenders exclusively for 40 years. If you gave me $4,000 or $5,000 to build a Telecaster or Stratocaster I don't think I could spend all the money even if I used premium parts.
