BETTER THAN I EXPECTED??? Eofauna Tyrannosaurus "Sue" Review!!!

The spots in the mouth are meant to be hyperpigmentation found in carnivorous mammals and even crocodilians. As for the articulation in in the jaw was done the way it was to give the Rex a fully fleshed out head and not have it too defined and shrink wrapped. The teeth are smaller due to the enveloping flesh inspired by monitor lizards. Personally I think these aspects were done well and helps give it a naturalistic look.

@bryannedelgado6479 I was actually unaware of these things. Definitely helps to see the good in some of the issues, like the spots. Still don't like the articulated jaw though. The smaller teeth aren't the worst but the severely rounded edges are very off putting.

I frikin' LOVE this figure. I am GOING to get it!!!! I think that the teeth being small makes sense, it would have had gums to cover the teeth. And the dullness makes sense as well because they are so small. I also really like the articulated jaw, and don't care about the seam. Also I REALLY like the vibrant and contrasting color scheme! This is basically the PERFECT Tyrannosaurus for me!!

I feel like they could've applied the teeth paint AFTER they've applied the speckling. It's also interesting that they've put bird-like cheeks on this figure, and the keratin on the head is more sheath-like than horn-like

I'm very partial to this figure because I am a local to the field museum and spend a lot of time in the company of Sue. I think eofauna did a fantastic job. One thing about sue's skull is that she has a very poiny nose compared to other t rex specimens, and they captured that beautifully!

I'm surprised you have so many problems with it. You've reviewed worse figures better. I got this just yesterday, no email or anything it just arrived in the mail in a bag. Terrible packaging. I'm surprised it wasn't bent or broken. I like the figure

@HughGort I definitely don't dislike it. Also I review each companies figures differently. I review a figure from a company based on their history, what they're trying to achieve and the standard quality they normally produce. So for instance, Eofauna has a history of excellent figures so I have to review this in a way that reflects their usual quality. Then if I review something from Chap Mei I would review that based on all of those same attributes of Chap Mei. So every companies reviews are usually different, unless it's between companies like PNSO and Eofauna, because both companies strive for accuracy and high quality figures. I hope this makes sense because it's hard to explain. Either way, it's a cool figure for sure, but I think it's my least favorite from Eofauna so far.

Susan T Rex only arrived from MiniZoo today for me! I think she is gorgeous! In hand, she is my favourite now, jumping in front of Wilson, Killer Queen and my old but trusty Papo brown that got me started! I love the paint; it reminds me of a Gilla Monster or one of our local goannas/monitors we have scurrying around Oz. She has to now hide in a cupboard for a few weeks unfortunately, until it is birthday time 😁

It's a cool model, the body proportions are great. Maybe all that soft tissue left over from the lower jaw is a little too much, it makes it look like a mammal. PNSO's lip restorations with ''saurophaganax'' and Yangchuanosaurus are still my favorites because they look more like lizards (as the images in the most recent article suggest).

Ive spent a lot of time looking at the sue specimen that this figure is based on and her nose is very pointy compared to other rex skulls. In my opinion, they nailed it.

Rebor consulted human surgeons & mammal vets rather than consult someone actually qualified in dinosaur anatomy ( Paleontologists )__ consequently incorrect mammalian over musculature was grafted on to the Rex ....in short they stuck mammalian musculature on a dinosaur. The head is also incorrect and broad( almost like a slightly modified JP skull) & the skin over textured . BOTM,Eofauna and PNSO( liplessness aside) actually get the musculature correct

Very lame I expected more about it. The dog faced T Rex. The teeth are ver bad sculpted. That black stains in its mouth. Musculature is not well defined. The hidden jaw and the articulation... Kiss is very superior by far. Even though Collecta Deluxe T Rex is better and Cameron from PNSO. 🙁
