Oooo Sophie, I'm from the South and fried chicken is considered an art form by many in my neck of the woods, but yours looks absolutely amazing. I do fried chicken often, but I'm going to try out this one for sure. The gravy looked fantastic too. That is most definitely getting made. Every recipe I've done of yours has been delicious. I did the adobo chicken for a potluck at church and doubled the recipe and I didn't get any. I did get a few complaints that I didn't make enough. LOL! The fried rice was a big hit too. In the south we use Crisco and we also use a brown paper bag I learned that from my Mom and Granny and that was 50 plus years ago but everyone from the south knows their was know ones fried chicken like your Grannies fried chicken and Bisquick and gravy. Oh boy I miss their cooking :)

As a mechanic/cook, i think KFC is using instant potatoes. Love the beef bouillon cube to color that gravy, i know the 11 spices, i need to try actual butter milk, made mine with reg milk and vinegar, i'm surprised u didnt double up ur dipping flour/milk for extra crispy!

Well.....better than KFC isn't really saying much....and I grew up with great fried chicken made by my mom. Never cared much for KFC. You recipe looks perfect. I don't usually fry chicken at home because it's so messy, but I am really tempted here. Hope the weather is nice down in Florida. My daughter and her husband live there and have a YT channel about fishing called Hey Skipper. We are going down to visit soon.
