I've been using it since 2004. It can be drying but now I mix in a little infadolan ointment that is also used with heavy derma rolling treatments. It creates a mini slugging treatment every night.. I'm in Australia which puts Dr Rajani's products out of reach..

If you are on a budget, the one splurge, IMO, that's totally worth the cost is Rajani's Retinol A Serum. I have been using it 2-3x per week for 4 months. Sun damage spot on my forehead is shrinking (orange peel), a milia under my eye is slowly going away, and recently I have noticed that my skin looks better without makeup than with. And I feel like I've barely made a dent in the bottle! Thanks, Doc :)

They make a great combination for me as well. I have a prescription for Tretinoin (.04%) from my doctor and didn’t have any trouble with it - I did follow the instructions; start slow, “more doesn’t mean better!”😊etc - my tolerance surprised me because of all the ‘horror stories’ I had read/heard, and I can have pretty sensitive skin. I use it with a (separate) prescription for 20% Azelaic acid, which I mix with my 15% Paula’s Choice Azelaic acid, or I alternate between the two) and their 10% Niacinamide booster, I love almost everything from PC but unfortunately, because I’m in Canada,🍁it can get quite expensive with the dismal exchange rate and taxes. BUT, their products have worked really well for me for ~10 years so I save my pennies 🪙 there are several products from Paula’s Choice that just aren’t replaceable (for me!😉) ♥️🇨🇦

I think you should make a clear distinction between retinol and retinoids. Maybe your intention was to make the explanation more approachable by referring to retinoids as 'retinols' because it is a common misuse, but I think this might confuse some people. For example, at 0:48, saying 'Retinoid Effectiveness Chart' makes it much clearer than 'Retinol Effectiveness Chart,' since retinol (the compound, not the misused term for retinoids) is then listed underneath in the chart as one type of retinoid.

The best, most effective and cheapest you can do for your skin. One cane mix it with a moisturizer when it is too strong in the beginning. This is quite informative, and I appreciate all your expertise but I have to say I do not like retinols at all, even the mildest versions. It is highly irritating to me and causes thinning of skin that is more fragile, and develops an inability to heal from cuts, spots, etc and more likely to develop a hypotrophic scar. I also noticed that for me, creams with citrus peel and lime oil and lemon oil work absolutely amazing for me, whilst ascorbic acid or the stabilised form of vitamin C does not work as well. I think this is because natural citrus peel also contains other ingredients such as vitamin k, but for me, holistic skincare, using natural ingredients seem to have the most optimal effect on me, and not isolated compounds such as ascorbic acid and retinoids. I’m curious about the retinal though, and wonder if it might work on a very small depressed scar caused by retinoids usage but most likely I would find it similarly irritating and would rather not risk further damage or scarring or scratching of my skin. Dr rajani, I’m wondering what your opinion is on the MelanX chemical peel? Or peels in general?

What about adapalene vs retinal?

Assuming your skin is not reactive, is a prescription of tretinoin 0.1 % more effective than the two things mentioned in your video? I have not yet heard of any topical that is more effective than tretinoin.

Study inflammation. That's the key killer to skin and some do great with tretinoin but many do not.

Dr Rajani, can we use bakuchiol mixed with castor or jojoba oil as an alternative to retinol or tretinoin. 5 drops bakuchiol mixed with 10 drops of castor or jojoba oil????

Hey doc, i'm 20 and due to severe illness in the past years got some terrible sunken hollow eyes, now I'm health wise fine but these sunken eyes are not reversing back to normal one as before illness, is there anything that can help (topical) other than fillers ????

@@leadersir iv seen alot of girls do co2 laser for wrinkles n stuff, but i would forsure do chemical peels that contain PCA, and use a good retinol or ask ur doc for a perscription of tretionin start low on either one 0.25, what are ur main concerns? If its dark circles skin ceuticals has their bit c undereye call AOX or smn its really good. N i use a zoe skin care intense under eye cream n it has retinol i wake up with nice eyes when i use it. Their pricey but worth it n go a longg way

@@britt840 hey , my main concern is hollowness under the eye mainly due to fat loss there , I don't have dark circle issue nor the issue of wrinkles cause I'm too young for these ,my only problem is fat loss under the eyes due to which they appear very hollow and sunked and gives my face a look of sick and tired person

A creator on TikTok said that using Retin A for long period of time your skin gets thinner. Is this true. He said to ditch all your retin A and all retinols

For me, I found this to be true. I also noticed many people with lighter skin tones who use retinoids often have fragile, thin skin that looks more wrinkled or is more prone to wrinkle to me. However, retinoids seem ideal for people with darker skin types, esp African heritage, but generally people with darker skin also have a thicker dermis, so the skin thinning might not be noticeable on them.

I wish you would make these products without avocado oil, its an allergin for me and many others.
@PtolemyXVII4 ай бұрын
Avocado oil has healing effects but it also causes darkening of the skin due to enhancing melanocytes. Most oils enhance and promote melanin formation except for argan oil and sesame oil which prevent melanin production. If people like the tanned glowing look, avocado, olive and coconut oil are ideal.

Avocado oil might have a healing effect but it has to be avoided completely for people who are allergic to it! There are many other oils that can be used!

Do you still recommend ez gel for the eyes? Could it be used for the temple area too? Recall u said that sculptra had too many negative effects. Is this still true? I love the idea of plumping the skin naturally instead of fillers but fearful of the nodules that can’t be removed.
