Hey Paul, I too was tired of the assegai packing with mud, I ended up putting two conti argotals on the eeb. Problem solved. I think I’m gonna try the high roller on the Kona.

Right!? It was so bad. I was riding a slick tire a few of those days. Wet loam is the worst! Def did not expect to like any tire more than the tried and true Assegai but it’s so good!

The Argotals are my go to winter tire. Really good grip, sheds the mud and doesnt slip on roots

Assegai high overrated imho, prefer contis myself but I am currently running 2.3 dhf/dhr classic set. disappointed though as I am having issue after issue with the rear tire mind you it's exo and I probably should be running DD or DH.

I like the maxxis minions quite a bit, but I've never tried them in super wet conditions because I just got them recently, but I have found them nice in more in technical and loser terrain compaired to my old tires.

Nice! What were you running before?

My old tires were schwalbe rapid rob and the ones on my old bike were the maxxis crest S1.

It’s a great tire for the PNW! Probably not so much for MN.

I’ve been using a 2.3 DHF Maxx Terra (in summer I was using the 2.5 assegai ) I find in the 2.3 the transition zone is smaller and it works really well as a fast all arounder for mixed conditions. Though I have a a 25 internal width rim I use with it.

Nice! I was wondering how those would do for mud. More similar to the HR3 than the Assegai.

Definently something i need to check more on my Bikes! I seem to get a lot of stuff stuck

It makes a big difference! So much more traction in loose damp soil.
