Ive had mine for 6 months. In a household of 6 with 1 bathroom. It does stain. And you have to sand it down with a small circle of sandpaper they supply. I had to purchase more. It does change the color after sanding. And the sanding is slightly more time-consuming than anticipated. But it doesnt smell. The paper it comes with says if your floor gets very wet lean it against a wall for a little bit. Mine has fallen multiple times and has survived without any damage. I love mine and definitely recommend it

They work but in most people’s bathroom the humidity is too high to evaporate all the water. You have to set it out in the sun once every 1-2 weeks to fully dry it so it works well again. It will eventually stop absorbing water fast enough to be useful.

These are called diatomaceous earth mats. And no, they are not maintenance free. They actually can stain over time and the cheap ones will warp. You do need to periodically sand down the surface to remove stains and the accumulated "stuff" on the surface. Then just rinse off again and it's good as new.

I had one of these. The problem is that because it's flat and hard, only the bottom surface of your feet get dry. That means any part that doesn't touch your feet remains wet. Maybe that's fine for bathrooms that are only just a little bit wet but my bathroom is a wet bathroom. My whole foot is wet when I come out of there. So I was still leaving wet footsteps after stepping on this mat

Welllll…. there IS this thing called “drying off”- with something *other than the dayum bath/floor mat* ; something like, oh, idk.. a flippin’ bath towel maybe?! - _BEFORE_ leaving the bathrm? I hate bathroom mats of any kind. Just dry my feet with towel and then get out of the shower.

@Rynergee

I’m using one right now. The doubting comments clearly from people who have no ideas what it is 😂😂 It’s perfect to dry my feet quickly when getting out of the shower. It’s much easier to clean compare to a mat or cloth. If there’s just dust or cat fur on the surface I just use a tape. If it needs proper cleaning, I can rinse and scrub it then flip it up for air dry. But I mostly use to dry my feet after showering so it rarely gets dirty

I’ve used probably not the exact one but similar; they will absorb forever basically as someone said. If you use oils in your bath or as you’re getting out you may notice that exposure to the oil leads to water drying less quickly since it can’t dry the water as efficiently with the oils, but it will still dry and may just need a little longer, nothing that I believe impacts the experience of using it. Mine were fairly thin mats and I did have them break (I think they were just a little bit curved and repeatedly being stepped on made them weaker and weaker until they broke at the weak spots), but I’ve replaced them since I really like the function; I did it twice, and while I hate having to replace things i feel I did get the use out of it. It was between 6-12 months before they broke, which again may be due to mine being thinner and more fragile, but to me that’s a great trade off for not having to wash a bath mat, worry about it getting moldy or mildewy, and the comfort of not getting lint and dust all over my clean feet so much :)

Yes because we all store ink in all of our bathrooms and by the way it says that it works with water so idk if it will absorb it

Well algae absorbs sunlight that can dry up water so if it can dry up it works if it can't dry up it won't work by the way why are you requesting things that I didn't want to know about
